We have space for one person/ couple/ two friends between now and 6th August if anyone would like to spend time with us and our animals.

We breed alpacas, chickens and ducks. We also design and build poultry houses here in the Blackdown Hills of Devon.

We are looking for an average of 28 hours help a week to be arranged to in a mutually convenient way. For example, four hours a day or eight hours for a few days followed by a few days off. As well as regular animal care and husbandry and cleaning out of chicken houses (which will include moving heavy wheelbarrows)some help will also be required with day-to-day upkeep of the farm. Please understand heavy manual labour is involved. Experience of animal handling would be preferable but not essential. What is important is someone who is prepared to "get stuck in"

You will have free use of the house for kitchen, bathroom etc. and staying in a large six man tent with plenty of storage and table and chairs. The tent has two separat... more inside

Peaceful smallholding in beautiful area of Hampshire.
There are endless outdoor and indoor maintainance jobs to do, and the more practical skills you have, the more welcome you are. Hopefully you will be able to work mostly on your own without constant supervision.
A very comfortable, and newly decorated single bed-sitting room is available, with adjacent bathroom, and all the usual facilities, including wi-fi. Life is fairly quiet here, (though busy,) so will not suit you if you're looking for a hectic social scene! There are nice village pubs within walking distance though, and I often have friends in.
As a retired music teacher, I am active in the local traditional music scene, and play several instruments.Insurance essential and photo appreciated.
I can only accept helpex-ers who are able to supply references from previous hosts, or employers.

Hello

I am looking for an energetic non-smoking couple who would like to come and stay for a week or two in the heart of Alice Holt Forest and help me paint the outside of my house. There is separate accomodation above a garage block but you are welcome to use the main kitchen in the house as well.

When not working there are plenty of things to enjoy in the forest including hiking, riding and other activities. A short bus ride will take you to Farnham, a beautiful English town with plenty of history and a castle.

I live in converted stables with my two children. We are surrounded by farmland in the North Yorkshire moors National Park. The place is remote, uniquely beautiful with fantastic views to the sea, Scarborough Castle, walks, bike rides, etc.

I have recently set up for an organic vegetable and herb garden and need help maintaining. I also need help in the garden and outdoor building maintenance work is needed. Roofing expertise would be most welcome!

I like to host, entertain and cook. The four hrs a day of work are in the morning, and should give plenty of time for folk to enjoy the surroundings.

At the moment, because it's summer, I prioritise hosting campers, although if you happen to be a roofer, you'll get the 5 star room!

We live in a big old Mill building with various nooks and crannies that people rent out for living, music, painting. My partner collects and restores old cars and tractors as well as attempting to keep up with the continued upkeep and gardening of the property. The property is on the river Exe and unfortunately floods at least once a year, but it is in a beautiful part of the world so that makes it worthwhile.

We would like someone to come and help us with general upkeep, gardening and repairs, in return you would get a caravan to live in and meals with us. You would also get the opportunity to be taken out and about - mainly to pubs - around the area.
I practice Capoeira and BSL if this is an interest of yours.

Small farm with young orchards and new plantings. Livestock - Jersey cows, mixed small sheep flock, goats, chickens, ducks and two ponies.
Vegetables, soft fruit and bees. Micro dairy CSA under development. Aim is to create a resilient holding, not dependent on external outputs, though still a fair way to go on that. Main projects this year are a straw bale farm building, further tree planting and creation of a new vegetable garden.

This is a burgeoning eco-project on 150 acres of disused golf-course. The project is in its early phases but currently includes an eco-campsite and a busy events and activities programme. Host to the Off-Grid Festival and Building Man, a unique eco-build/skills development camp.

We are looking to develop the site further with a worm farm, garden area, compost-heated shower system and much more. There is always work to be done around the site, from erecting site art to building infrastructure, to landscaping, cleaning up, litter picking, sign-making and much more. Its a fun place to live and work.

Accommodation in bell tent or similar can be provided for up to 2 weeks at a time, as well as food and drink.

Sorry-we are not taking helpxers at the moment. Phil runs an increasingly successful business growing chillies and turning them into chutneys, relishes etc which we then sell locally and at markets. We have a large garden and a large house and not enough hours in a day! We want help with the garden, general house maintenance and sometimes helping to run market stalls for 4 hours a day in exchange for a comfortable room and Phil's superb cooking! We live in a small village with limited transport but lifts to transport links could easily be arranged. We are 20 miles or 30 minutes from Norwich and much closer to several small towns. We live in a popular tourist area and attract those visitors who like walking/bird watching etc. The hours worked could be flexibly timetabled. We also have an elderly independent relative living with us. We can accomodate 2 helpers who could have their own rooms (or share if they prefer!)Short stays of a few days up to 2 weeks please.
