Dear HelpXer;

We`re a 3heads Family – Ennio (9), Alex (psychologist; 44 real age :-) and Robert (social worker and outdoor coach; 45). We have neither got a big farm nor a very special need – except: As we try to stay openminded to the world ourselves we also try to impart to our son how much fun speaking and understanding a foreign language can be! He is not convinced jet! Therefore we decided to teach him and sometimes other kids English at home. Every Monday is our English-Monday but we miss a communicative sparkling native. A lot! But not only on mondays.
(If you feel like working in our jungle garden as well or playing with a 9year old, we will not keep you from it.(-;)
The area in which we live in is called Styria, which claims to be the green heart of Austria!
Our garden is the very greenest/whitest (in winter time) part of it.
The surrounding area is covered by forests and it's great for walks, hiking, climbing and biking. If you want to try to snowboard it´s a 20 min... more inside

Family Home south of Vienna,

you have your own room with bath in the basement in a large family home with Parents, 2 Boys (17 & 13) and 3 cats. Next to a lake on the country side, Vienna is about 20mins by car or up to an hour by public transport.

Wife is Austrian born Canadian, Husband German and we lived many years in Africa and Asia. Therefore spoken language at home is half german / half english.

We need someone to help in the house with various tasks. Drivers license would be great. Working time per day max 4 hours, in exchange for stay and food.

We are looking forward to hear from you!

Judy & Andreas

Hi there!

We are a family with a small 3 year old disabled boy, who are currently looking for some help to adapt our garden to make it possible to walk with a wheelchair! This will happen in August approx 10th - 18th! If you can we would be very happy to have your helping hand with us. Of course we can pick you up somewhere. You will live in the upper floor and have your privacy there (see pictures)

You can come anytime August and September

We live in a wooden clay house in a small village in upper Austria in the so called Mühlviertel, hilly Area, nice views, cool temperatures! :)

Help needed will be about:

Well it will be mainly physical work,
removing some bark from trees,
carrying them, ...
carrying gravel,

It's also possible that you just take a little care of our son, by talking him out for a walk .. he loves that :)

Hi,

UPDATE: Free again in March.

We have been helpers ourselves and started becoming Hosts in 2011 and had absolutely fantastic helpers since that time.
Now, after our 2 sons are born we have lots of work around the house and in the garden again so we would love to have a volunteer or a couple here again. Dani is already back at University and Chris is working in the field of IT.
We like to share our home and our lifestyle with people from all over the world, like to make friends and spend a good time together.
It would be fantastic to have somebody here who wants to stay for a long period and share the life with us, learn the language, ...... Unc... more inside

We are a community of currently 7 adults and 1 child. Our aim is to establish an alternative lifestyle which is in harmony with nature and each other. Community life and sharing our daily lifes is very important to us. We have a huge garden where we grow a lot of different things for the vegetable supply of the community. Of course organic because we don't want to poison ourselfs :)
We also keep chickens, ducks and have a dog and cats.
Help is mostly needed in the garden but also with general maintanance, repairing, building and sometimes cooking.
We are looking forward to welcome openminded and openhearted people in our community.

No helpers in summer!

Hello everyone :)
After hosting several Agricultural students this is our first try on helpx and we hope to make it a pleasant stay for you.
Our family consists of Doris & Walter, Walters parents and the 3 teenager children, of whose two are currently living at home. We live around 20mins from Linz on a dairy farm with around 45 cows, plus calves and bulls and we want YOU to help us feeding them.
You are very welcome to come to our house if you are interested in farming, you don't necesarily need farming experience. You work around 25hrs per week to get full board and accomodation. We can talk about your working schedule so that you have enough free time to do walking, cycling, sightseeing,... Basic german is not a must but would make your stay a lot easier, as our English is not the best and the grandparents don't speak English at all.

If you want to know anything just contact us, feel free to ask any questions!

We are an organic farm in small farmersvillage.

We have aroud 13 horses, two small cows, some chiken, two goats, two dogs and some cats. The land that we farm is around 20 ha. We produce the food for the horses and for us our own. We have appletrees, we plant potatos, weat and other vegetables, there are meadows for the horses and some forest.

We try to produce the most that we need on food and for living with the land and the hands that we have.

We live in familiar situation and different generations and welcoming lovely people who like to work in the nature and with animals.

The work is dependent on the season, it will be some work in the stable with the horses and some work on the field.
The working time can be flexible, also dependent on the weather. There is some work that need to be done daily like cleaning the stable of the horses, bring them outside and look if they have water. The work on the field is more saisonal, like we seed in springtime and autumn, m... more inside

I am without label and do live humbly from what I can create myself - for life and love. My goal is to create a world in wich I can share my experience and knowledge with others. My invitation is for people who want to share this path.
I can speak German, Persian and a little bit of English.
My project:
Refurbishing a small house. Most of the work will be wood-related. The jobs are:
1 craftsmen for building
1 building assistants
1 person for shopping, cooking and garden work

I can give you the opportunity to develop yourself. I could give ideas and advice, if desired. Time by time different people are visiting my house for collaborations, enjoying nature and life.

There is currently one room, hosting three people and a family room with kitchen. I sleep in a trailer, thee is plenty of space for your trailer or tipi.
Bathroom facilities are rudimentary, but intact.

CRAFTY PEOPLE VERY WELCOME! WE ARE BUSY BUILDING WITH ADOBE/WOOD AT THE MOMENT!

We are a family of five (kids born 1998, 2001,2009)that after travelling the world settled on an old farm in the wonderful hilly region in East-Styria. We are not a fully running farm, more a homestead, and always experimenting with new things (pigs, sheep, chicken - we've had it all, but reduced now as we are too busy with other stuff to take responsibility for livestock There's still a dog, two cats and running ducks). We are trying to turn our property into an "edible landscape" where you go foraging instead of harvesting. Lots of wildlife loves our property, as we keep it as natural as possible.

At the moment we are busy remodeling Gerhards workshop (he is an archer and bow-builder)and renovating a roofed terrace with rammed earth walls and wooden floor. Very thankful for helping hands here!!

Otherwise there are nut trees to take care of, herbs to harvest and process, fruits to can etc.
Go... more inside
