We have a small farm in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Black Mountains, on the border of England and Wales.
We could do with help this spring in a number of areas:

Gardening: We run a cut-flower business growing and selling flowers - there is weeding, digging, bulb planting, seed sowing, tree planting and other garden work to be done.
Tree surgery/firewood work: plenty of chainsaw action needed to stock up supplies for next year.
Cleaning: we also run a luxury "glamping-style" holiday let, - we need help with changovers three days a week, plus laundry.

Update 17th March 2014: We are planning to do lots of work on the nature reserve and gardens this year, but we only have space for camping! We can provide a good sized tent, barbecue equipment, lanterns etc, and access to washing facilities / bathroom, and we will provide food.

General handy-people welcome!

We can only offer two weeks maximum though stays may extended once you arrive and if things work out. Prefer English speakers (but doesn't have to be perfect English!)

We have two country hotels which need maintenance right through the season, and assistance with painting and decorating, fixing, and clearing and maintaining outside areas would be much appreciated. We also have Crossbank Nature Reserve, which was begun as a simple hobby, and now over twenty years on, we have created a well established wildlife haven for a great variety of plants and animals.

However, it needs constant maintenance too! Cutting back paths, planting new trees, re... more inside

I am renovating a self sufficient cottage which has a boat mooring.

I am offering accomodation and meals in exchange for help with all aspects of the building work, both inside and outside, including repairing the river bank/jetty, plumbing and solar energy.

This may be suitalbe for a couple who can help with both decorating and building.

This is in a stunning riverside location and there will be use of the dug out canadian type canoe. The house is on a cycleway and had walking access to the local village.

The house is currently being updated to run completely off the national grid and has a wood-burning stove for the heating.

This would suit a variety of helpers including those familiar with:
Solar power systems and inverters.
Kitchen fitting.
Building work in general.

The length of stay can be varied, depending on your own preferences and the amount of ongoing work to be done.

The accomodation may be in the cottage but could also be in a self contained cam... more inside

We are looking for some help in house and garden for up to two weeks March, April, May 2014.

This is in exchange for accommodation within 50 mins of central London. The 'travelcard' from London Transport costs 8.50 and gives you unlimited travel for one day on tubes, trains and buses.
The best arrangement would probably be for you to work 4-6 hours on one day and have the next day free. We are also within easy reach of Richmond, Oxford, Stratford on Avon and Buckinghamshire countryside.

Beautiful wooden polehouse located in a secluded valley near Lands End desperately in need of maintenance, both to the building, veranda and the surrounding land. Would suit someone with both carpentry and gardening skills plus creative energy. Some of the main jobs that need doing include repair of main and back steps leading up to the house, clearing gutters, woodworm treatment to some of the exterior poles, plus general clearing of the land to re-establish lawn and kitchen garden. The property is surrounded by streams on both sides so other potential projects could include designing and building a small water turbine to harness the water power or to create a fountain feature. The polehouse is also next door to a millhouse with a working waterwheel.
There is a small self contained chalet adjacent to the polehouse with both kitchen and bathroom facilities and wifi access. This would suit one person or a couple looking to stay in the wilds of West Cornwall in self catering accommo... more inside

Mark and I run a restaurant and B&B with 8 rooms in Cornwall. We are situated in a lovely wooded valley beside a river and only 10 minutes walk down to St Austell town. The famous Eden Project is just a few miles away. The Building was originally a Blowing House (tin smelting) and later was used in the clay drying business. We have just under 2 acres and we are trying to create a water garden. The jobs would mainly be helping me to clear trees and shrubs on the valley banks, cutting and shredding wood, the odd shift as a waitress/waiter maybe, building a gazebo (any building experience would be great), some cleaning or painting if the weather is too bad. If anyone is able to weld, we have a waterwheel desperately in need of care.
We have a lovely young labrador and a cat.
We can offer one of our en-suite rooms with cooked breakfasts and evening meals and a 'help yourself' lunch for 20 hours work per week. We have free internet and a bike for transport.
Our first winter with Help... more inside
