In our household we have myself, my husband Chris, our 6 year old daughter and our pet cat.
We live in a small, pretty village which is very popular with walkers, rock climbers, cyclists and others who enjoy ourdoor pursuits and it's only half an hour journey to the vibrant city of Manchester.
I work in the media in Manchester and Chris works away Monday to Friday in London.
Our daughter attends the village school which is 2 minutes walk from our house.
Curently our daughter is dropped off at her friend's house 3 mornings a week at 8am and is picked from school by her friend's parents 5 afternoons a week.
We would expect this to continue with the au pair picking up and dropping off our daughter at her friend's houses. We all live on the same road, so it's really easy and straighforward.
I leave the house and 7.30am and return at 6.30pm, and once a week, usually on a Friday, I'll get home at 7.30pm.
Our daughter's bedtime is between 7.30-8pm and she wakes up each morning ... more inside

On this working organic farm, established in 1997, you will find chickens, ducks, geese, Ruby Red Cattle, dogs, cats and bees. There is a productive vegetable garden, orchard, woodland, hedgerows and a wild flower meadow bordering onto Culm grassland.

All the produce from this farm is sold direct at Farmer's Markets and the preparation is done on the farm too. Plenty to do!

There are always projects on the go from helping with animals, in the garden and fields or various building and maintenance tasks.

Accommodation will be in a twin bedroom in the farmhouse, and you will be treated as one of the family. The North Cornish coast is 10 miles away and Dartmoor 20 miles, all on a bus route.

We prefer one or two helpers who can stay a minimum of two weeks or longer and are happy to muck in and muck out wherever needed.

We manage a small retreat centre set in wonderful countryside on the South Downs. We are looking for people to help out with a variety of tasks, usually between retreats, such as mowing/strimming, pond clearance, weeding, general maintenance, cleaning, cooking and wood chopping for about five hours a day, or more if you wish. During retreats it would be helpful if you can help us with cooking, serving food and clearing up. We may ask you to work extended hours sometimes but we try to keep this balanced. In return we offer food and comfortable accommodation, use of the facilities (including the outdoor pool and tennis court) and a flexible approach. We can collect you from local stations or there is a request bus stop at the top of our drive. We have help at the moment but would like to hear from you if you are available in the spring or early summer.

The Old Hall was originally built in about 1650 and a third storey added in about 1800.
The house has some attractive features but needs much tender loving restoration to bring it back to its former beauty.

There are stables (used for storage and one is a gym) and a large garden, paddock, a range of outbuildings, animal pen and an orchard & pond area.

Bedrooms have king size, double or single beds. Baths and showers. Kitchen. Dining Hall. Lounges.

We would especially like to host fabulous joiners, roofers, plasterers, plumbers, electricians, bricklayers, stonemasons, architects, structural engineers (or helpers with any experience of these).

Also at the moment, we would invite people with house keeping, vegetable gardening or landscaping experience and general grafters who have some experience of DIY. We are currently looking to host during January & February 2014.

A beautiful, 5 bedroom, period family home with large secluded gardens in the heart of the Kent countryside. We are near the Eurostar Station in Ashford (20 minutes drive) with easy connection to London (39 mins on train) Beautiful beaches close by and the historic towns of Rye and Battle.
Three very well behaved children (7 year old twins)and a 18 year old boy. Luxury guest room, WIFI, and excellent home cooking.
Seeking someone to assist with entertaining twins (although they tend to do the entertaining and a willing audience is usually enough). Help round the garden and house if possible. Plenty of opportunity to improve English skills, learn to cook and have a wonderful time with a happy family.

**PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF AND EXPERIENCE WITH HORSES**
I only ask this because we have taken people on to train them in the past and found it takes weeks for them to adjust and then it is time to leave - it is boring here for someone who does not know how to work with a horse. It can also be dangerous for someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR WINTER SEASON HELPERS...

Working family farm/stud in rural North Yorkshire bordering the moor and large areas of forest, where we have 13 sport horses, chickens, and a dog. Help is required mainly to work with the horses e.g mucking and exercising- but also to maintain the farm. Experience with horses is necessary. We are self sufficient with a vegetable patch too so if you have green thumbs then that's a bonus!
We are situated near Helmsley, a small town with shops and pubs (and a bus system). In summer it's mostly hacking in miles of forest (you haven't seen riding like this!), and if you w... more inside

Our home is just outside Gillingham in Dorset, we have dogs and ponies and about 10 acres of paddocks with an acre of garden. My retired parents live in the main house and we have a cottage next door. I normally live in New Zealand but am back helping my parents with the property and their business as my father is currently unwell. We are looking for some help with a wide variety of outdoor and indoor jobs...gardening, maintenance, cleaning etc. Anyone who has a smile on their face, is hard working and looking to explore the south west would be the perfect fit. Ideally you should have your own transport as we live in a village location. The area is beautiful and I am always nipping into town, taking the dogs for a run or indulging my passion for learning Reiki. Accommodation would be in the very pretty but dated cottage. I use one room as an office and some storage but you would have your own room/bathroom/kitchen if necessary although we would provide breakfast and a main meal if r... more inside
