I have a coffee house in Ennis town centre and I am looking for someone to help out in the cafe from mid January. My house is 2 minutes from the cafe, hidden away in a quiet part of the town centre. I have a double room which will be free from mid January. You can move in (with another housemate and I) and come and go as you please. The house is a quiet one these days but, we are both partial to the odd good beer and listening to a bit of music.
Help required in the cafe is fairly straightforward, but I do specialise in coffee; serving single origin coffee so will gladly teach you all I know. Roughly 25-30 hours per week and you will be well fed there for the duration of your stay. I will also top up your funds by 50 per week.

Ennis is a very interesting, almost bohemian town. Lots of music, history and things to do for free.

We are a family with three young children that is in the process of establishing an organic mixed farm on land directly opposite Slane Castle. The castle and its lands has been in our family since 1703 and is world renowned for it's annual outdoor rock concerts which feature Bon Jovi and Eminem in 2013.

We are now looking to build a series of buildings out straw bales and timber with the straw that comes from the barley fields on the farm. This includes our new farmhouse, an office and the 'Limehouse' which is a communal building that will serve our luxury eco-camp on the farm that includes canvas yurts. We also have a working farm which includes rare breed cattle, pigs, chickens, dogs and veggies.

The main focus on the farm at the moment is building the straw bale buildings where you will get the chance to learn how to build with this amazing natural material. Once the straw walls are built then we apply clay and lime renders, also local, natural materials that are fun to wo... more inside

I am situated in Connemara about 30 miles West of Galway at the head of Kilkieren Bay. The area is very beautiful and surrounded by lakes and mountains. The sea is about 10 minutes walk away and there are beautiful beaches within 5 miles. It can be very wet and windy but wonderful too in fine weather. I only have about 1/2 acre of land but my object is self sufficency. I have a large vegetable garden that is still being developed. I am also a beekeeper with currently five hives. There are young fruit trees not bearing yet. The next project is to keep ducks. I have a wind turbine and solar cells, mostly home made and installed which produces enough electricity to light a workshop and office. There is also solar water heating. As I am retired from the corporate world but very fit and healthy there is always a great deal to do with various projects on the go most days. I am also a woodworker and wood turner, making my own beehives and some for sale. In the summer I sell wooden ite... more inside
