In the pleasant surroundings of rural northern Victoria, is nestled the long established dairying district of Invergordon. Known for its rich red soils and lush pastures, Invergordon is one of the best production areas in the irrigation basin.

We are getting busy now with cows to milk, calves to feed, pigs to feed, pasture to manage, fencing to do etc...

If you are interested in joining us, and we would love to have you, be prepared for some nice days, some very warm days, and the odd miserable day followed by pleasant evenings enjoying a drink or two watching the sun go down. The sunsets and rises are beautiful at present.

We are currently looking for 1 person to assist us from now until end of Nov.

We operate a family run dairy farm with up to 200 cows on a variety of irrigated pastures with some seasonal cropping. Duties would include assistance with milking, general farm duties and basic training will be provided.

Experience of some kind of agriculture would be ... more inside

HELPEX 27 2 2014-02-27
This is a great site and I have just had two wonderful young people staying with me. A young german couple, who are leaving this week. They have been very helpful to me as I am very tired from chemotherapy.Prior to this I had a young Scottish girl helping me to get better.Too bad I cant have everyone at the same time! I need my helpers to be clean tidy and organized.Monika and Dominic were very good in this way.
I have a double room suitable for a couple m&f. The room would be available towards the middle of september
Is there an older experienced COUPLE male and female of middle years with BUILDING SKILLS or ELECTRICAL WORK who would like to come and stay in my house. There's a warm room and a comfortable double bed.
Just now I am desperate for a shed to be reconstructed in the garden. I have obtained a secondhand shed for the purpose which needs to be modified. THE USE OF POWER TOOLS IS NECESSARY.
There are a few things which need to be done to make... more inside

This is a grassroots camping community festival of music, arts, costume, dance that we invite you to participate in. It is held on a beautiful property by a lake near Mansfield about 3 hours drive from Melbourne over a long weekend 31 October-4 November. Helpers would need a tent and basic sleeping gear but we could help to find this for travellers who don't have their own gear.
We are looking for people who want to come up and be a part of this wonderful festival and who could help us with setting up structures, decorations, signs, artwork etc on the thursday 30 October and friday 31 October, and help us pack down the festival on tuesday 5 November. Work is totally fun, we are all volunteers and do it for the fun of being a part of such a wonderful vibe. It would also be great if anyone wanted to help out with looking after kids, as some of us organisers have little children that need to be attended to while we set up and organise etc..
The festival has communal meals each ... more inside

MOST URGENTLY IN NEED OF HELP FOR OCTOBER 2014

Our property's name means 'tranquility'/'calm’. Everyone who has stayed here has said the property is well named. It would also have been well named if we had simply called it 'beautiful'. My wife, Yael, and I are not farmers. We allow a farmer to use two thirds of our property to graze sheep, but he does this only some of each year.
I am a writer and philosopher - my wikipedia link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raimond_Gaita). Yael is a retired schoolteacher. I speak German reasonably.
We are located in the Gold Fields region of Central Victoria, 11km from Maldon, a lovingly preserved heritage village (http://www.visitmelbourne.com/Regions/Goldfields.aspx). The landscape of the area is beautifully captured in a film of my book, Romulus, My Father, which stars Eric Bana and Franka Potente (http://www.romulusmyfather.com.au/about.html).

We would like a couple to live with Yael and I, in the house, for ten days or two weeks, eac... more inside
