We live in 300 year old Grade 2 listed terraced cottage in central Frome. We have 2 small children, no pets and a lot of work to do. We would love some help to bring our house into the 21st century which includes redecorating ie stripping wall paper & paint, plastering, painting, gardening and other bits and pieces. We also have an allotment around the corner which would appreciate some attention. Happy to supply wholesome meals and accommodation in the spare bedroom. Hours of work are negotiable but we would hope for 4 - 5hrs a day on average. No smokers please. We will be taking helpxers next summer end of July 2013.

Update: 25.10.2012

Hola Great Travelling People of the World. Thanks for taking a look at our profile.

Ideally, we are looking for volunteers for December, January & February 2013 who have worked on similar types of projects to those below. We hope there is a great opportunity for people with a real passion for eco builds and self sustainability.

We have just finished planning out the new site layout at West Lexham, which has been very exciting. We're now in the process of designing and planning the builds of:

2 Tree Houses
2 Hoppers Eco Huts
1 small thatched hut

We are also designing and building all the furniture for these new homes using only reclaimed materials from West Lexham. This is a continuous and exciting job we find ! We even have a special T-Shirt for the most creative piece each month! I'm yet to win!

Plans for a hobbit home are being made and should (we hope) also be built before May 2013. We are also converting our barn into an events spa... more inside

We accept volunteers for seasonal work and are always keen to see what wonderful people come through our doors.
We need 1-2 helpers for the months of March/April/May to help us plant all of our vegetables in our poly tunnel and field. For the whole summer months we run a busy campsite so there is plenty of work to be done. Carpenters and handymen are always welcome as general maintenance and new projects are on-going. We have chickens, ducks and goats and hope to expand with more animals in the near future. We would prefer helpers to stay for a longer period of time so you can really get stuck in and take on a project yourself and also it gives us all a chance to get to know each other better.
Situated in Sheffield park in East Sussex near a small village with local organic farmshops, pubs and cafes within walking distance. You can also walk to the Bluebell railway steamtrain and Sheffield park National trust gardens.

I am afraid we are not currently looking for helpxers. Thanks

Hello, this is a listing on behalf of my parents James & Maxine Matthews who have recently accquired a grade II listed property. They are pretty cool - James is a musician (of 70s Mungo Jerry fame) who had been a techonology teacher and also holds a masters in sustainable architecture. Maxine is a yoga teacher who enjoys gardening and music.

They are looking for people to get involved with the restoration of the house but also to enjoy their fun a relaxed country air.

Daily routine could include yoga before breakfast, a few hours working on the roof, tasty lunch, some work in the organic kitchen garden and perhaps some bricklaying. In the evening you would be welcome to join them at regular music nights and gigs in Norwich or a campfire in the woods out the back - it's really up to you.

The house itself is a fantastic, abeit dilapidated, example of a Georgian manor house. 28 rooms, 3 cellars and a grand stair... more inside

We have a small holding which has grown into a small farm with a butchers shop. We raise free range traditional breed pigs, sheep, goats & Highland cattle. We urgently need help from someone with butchery skills in exchange for board & lodging. As we serve the public a good grasp of English would be essential. Additionally there is always something to do on the farm for your travelling companion. You would have a room of your own in the farmhouse (or a caravan if you prefer). Hours by arrangement but less than 20 per week.
