Hello out there!!
I would like to travel with somebody that can maybe teach me something like carpentry, plumbering, electricity, fishing, permaculture...
I'm not very skillful and I would like to learn as much as possible in those fields, in exchange I can show you how to get fit, flexible, break dancing, some french, spanish and how to be cheap travelling :))))) Hope to hear from you soon!
I can give my phone number so we can meet each other a little bit before giving the step :)))))
Going to Asturias and Hungary, current location: Madrid- Spain
Hello my potential future hosts! This is currently my 14 month and 8th experience volunteering.
So... Hii! I'm Jose, a 22 years old guy from a lovely village in the mountains of the Canary Islands (Spain). I'm shy at the beggining, polite, correct, honest, chaotic, thoughtful, I laugh more easily than I would like and I'm as voracious as sportive.
No drugs, don't smoke. I drink only at parties.
---I'll show you first what you can expect from me and then at the bottom my story and why I began volunteering.---
WHAT I'VE DONE BEFORE:
Chainsawing | strimming |chopping firewood | used weedkiller | sanding |restoring a roof | painting | sailing | freediving | cooking | cleaning and other basic houseworks | babysitting | some basic gardening | working in general duties in a hostel | translating a webpage |lacking and oiling wood | steering a safety boat | cleaning fish and preparing fillet (I still dont know how to do it properly) | polishing bronze furniture | worm compost | repairing fences | building stairs on the soil | some basic carpentry work.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO LEARN:
Everything about building, permaculture, and every handy skill.
(If I'm learning one of these it's not a problem to work a lot of extra hours).
ARRIVING/ DURATION/ LEAVING:
As I try to be ecofriendly I would like to have a not specific day of arriving so I can hitchike or bycicling to your place. I try to avoid planes.
Long term is no problem, and I like to set also the time of leaving somehow so there's no surprises for any of us.
I began volunteering for two reasons:
1. -To scape from a bad economic situation at home (volunteering is even cheaper than living at my own house without a job)
2. -Experience to add later to my CV.
After 9 months I came back to the conventional lifestyle, to my place, but I couldn't go through. It was just too stressing (to be surrounded of people dreaming materialists stuffs 24/7) and I felt I wouldn't fit anymore. So now I planned to keep going on with volunteering, AuPair, min-jobs...
My goal is to have a 100% eco-friendly way of living. (Water, food, clothes or every thing I can consume) because those simple things are enough to make me feel happy. I also began a videoblog, I would like showing that "doing the right thing" is exciting, you can travel, meeting special people and being part of awesome projects.
Sooo, that's it. That's me.. Hope to hear from you soon :)
If this wasn't enough you can check the oppinions of my previous hosts.
