I plan to explore the South Island around mid December. Iíd like to do some great walks there but donít feel enough confident to do it alone. So if you are looking for someone to hike and travel with, even for a couple of days, Iíam in !
I donít have a car (better for everybody safety) but I welcome a good driver with a spare seat or we can hitchhike together.
North Island and South Island around mid December
[Currently in Hawkes bay then Wellington and South Island]
My 30L backpack and my empty watercolor road notebook are ready to explore New Zealand for the first time.
As for me, its not the first time I set a foot on hobbits & kiwi land. Born in New Caledonia, I spent some holidays there, but I was not old enough to travel with no plans (or only a hint of a plan).
I know that my name is not easy to pronounce for non French native speaker, so I dont mind if you call me Bob. It sounds more "adventurer" ;)
Some ID stuff :
- 25 years solo traveler
- tired by 6 years of studies in France, mostly in Paris
- try to learn guitare, ukulele and watercolor without any success
- worked in a art shipper company and in a French bakery (as a seller, sorry ;) )
- speak French, English with a French accent (hope to discard it), some Kurdish and Farsi.
- former scout (so used to get dirty and outside work)
- good French teacher
Its my first solo long term trip and I am very excited and canít wait to discover this way of travelling.
As I am a to-do-list adept :
- zero waste travel
- milking a cow
- knowing more about permaculture
- off the grid experience
- hike, hike, hike
- things I donít expect to do
What else ?
I am curious, very very curious about everything. I love trying new activities and try to learn as much as I can from this journey.
I like sports, especially the ones when you fly (circus apparitus like aerial silk or trapeze, pole dance, etc) and play many instruments even if I dont know how to use it properly (its a pleasure for me, not for the ears around) :)
Rather a calm person, not shy but no extrovert neither. I expect to enjoy nature, to hike, to learn about farming, to improve my English, meet interesting people and find some eco friendly inspiration.
Vegetarian (but allow some exceptions to my diet for hunting and fishing meat). I dont like to impose my diet so I gladly cook and share my meals.
I try to travel light as I am tired of carrying a huge bag and looking like a giant turtle ;)
I mostly avoid touristing things.
