Hi,
Helper needed now for july
We are a family of four, and as my husband will be working in another country for 2 months and my son and daugther are studying away from home, and we have a cat that is always happy to be pet.

My name is Corinne, I am a French literature teacher, so this is a good place to improve your french; otherwise no problem because I love speaking English.
I will be very happy to have a helper for a few days or more, I would need help 5 hours a day, 5 days per week, so you have two days free per week, note : obviously during the free days you are expected to clean after yourself after eating or after dirtying or using something.

During the winter on your days off you might want to go skiing as there is a ski resort 2 hours from Toulouse and they have special forfaits for one day skiing including the transportation from Toulouse.

The help that I need is basically maintenance job in the house, gardening ( the garden does need some work ),maybe some p... more inside

Welcome to my big old family house.
Since few years I have tried to "restore" it in summer time, with some help. It is located one hour from Toulouse, near a little village with a shop / restaurant / tobacco / bar. The house is surrounded by fields, with no neighbors except cows sometimes, and gives an unobstructed view over the Pyrénées.

This summer, iIwould like to host a week long, from Thursday, August 13th to Wednesday 19th, more or less one day according to you. You can arrive directly by car, or I can pick you up at a train station (20 min) or at Toulouse airport.

During this week with you, I would like to restore one room (coating, painting, wall papper hanging), and doi some other works in a barn and around the house. More or less. It will depend of the number of helpers you will be.
I plan to work around 6 hours a day and be free the rest of the time.

According to the weather, you could spend time in a 3 meters inflatable pool to refresh yourself.
Around the ... more inside

Bonjour everybody:)

"UPDATE:
No place for August"

As you see in our profile, we had already some helpers, and thanks to them the house and the garden are much nicer.
We have a cat, who is in the house.

We both work from home, so we'd like to have somebody who could help with housework. CLEANING and helping with cooking would be always appreciated.
And some ironing would be greeeeat;)

If you can make a website (something serious) it would be a help too, but if you are willing to do JUST that, pls do not contact us.
However the most important help would be gardening. Which includes digging, weeding, planting and watering also. If you are not willing to work in the garden pls. DO NOT write to us.

This summer we'd like to paint the ceiling in the living room.

We are always open to your DIY ideas.

On the rainy days we'd like to scan a lot of family photos, which are on paper now. (yes, we are so old;). )

But let's not just speak about the work:

Hi! I’m Nathalie, I’m Belgian and live with my 2 kids (9-14), a rabbit, a few cats and some chickens in Saint Christophe (Tarn), 1h15 from Toulouse by train.

The area is called Gorges de l’Averyon, it's known for it’s beautiful nature and medieval villages (St Antonin Noble Val, Cordes sur Ciel, Villefranche de Rouergue, Najac…).
You can go hicking, climbing, swimming, canoeing, cycling, fishing ... and one of my friends is a yoga teacher.

We live in and old house, but with necessary confort, and a spacious spare room for visitors.

I'm looking for some help from help-x’ers !
What could you do ? I have different projects i would like to do, depending on what you feel good with:
* start another bathroom(plaster or jointing in house, painting,..^)
* extent and maintain the vegetable garden: build little walls in garden, put new plants in,...
* built bigger chicken shed
* or just little things like: cooking, cutting wood, paint woodwork, helping with kids,...

The last 2 weeks of July are already booked.

Our family of 3 lives on this tiny half- professional animal farm : 1 cow, 2 donkeys, hens, garden, fields and a few crops. We slowly change the farm following permaculture principles. Here you can learn simple self sufficiency skills : cooking, preserves, cheese, bread, soap, gardening or simple clay building... Family vibes. Animals and seasons dictate their rythm, the menus and activities. 2015's goal is to build a cob igloo. French and english spoken.
We prefer to host helpers for a minimum of 2 weeks. Long term stays are possible too.

Bonjour, kia ora and hi. We are Sara, Jeremy, 13 year old Elijah and dog, Nyx. We are kiwis and Jeremy is British and have found a new home here in the sunny south west of France. We have just bought our Moulin. It hasn't been a working mill for a long time. It is on 8 acres of land, some woods, a river and pond, there are some old fruit trees. It is overgrown quite a bit, ivy, wisteria out of control etc. But it is basically in great shape. We are wanting to plant a big vegetable patch. We are looking at using 1 hectare to plant a newly developed fruit and basically bring the property to some use and order.
The house itself needs mainly interior painting, decorating, though if there was a stonemason, we are looking to create more windows, and there is a grenier/attic to turn into a bedroom, with some plumbing to be done.
So the skills we are looking for are some carpentry, building, horticulture, ie for pruning and cutting back trees, handy, practical but above all, a good sense... more inside
