I am James, 63 years old, single!

I am renovating a pair of houses at the edge of the Lac de Guerledan although the renovation is on hold for the moment. I need help with mostly outdoor work such as tree cutting, log splitting, etc, therefore boys are preferred due to the manner of the work involved.

You will be rewarded for your hard work!

You don't have to be skilled, just willing and able.

The accomodation for helpers is a small caravan which is dry and very comfortable, with electricity, but in the small house there is hot water, shower, cooking facilities, basic electrics, fridge, washing machine. There is internet access and TV, in exchange for 25/30 hours per week. I am only able to accommodate 1 helper at a time.

The area is very popular for walkers, cyclists and canoeists. I have a bike for helpers to use. The property is right on the Nantes - Brest canal which in total covers 400km. The Lac de Guerledan is a popular resort especially in the summer months a... more inside

**UPDATE** Our summer letting season is coming to an end. Due to a couple of people having to change their commitments, we have availability for helpers from about 10th September until early October. The tasks will mainly involve outside work, including gardening, strimming, help with the goats and chickens and possibly some help preparing guest accommodation and/or some painting and decorating work, should the weather not be suitable for outside work.

We are a Simon and Suzanne, a British couple running holiday accommodation in the Pyrenees from a large property with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. In our ten years here we have welcomed holidaymakers from all over the world and introduced them to our lovely area, and many have returned to visit us several times. Our two children are now in their 20s and no longer live here.

In our 5 hectares of grounds we keep a small herd of goats for milk and meat, and geese, ducks, chickens and quail for eggs and/or meat. C... more inside

- we are actually looking for any babysitting for the 1st september, and the beginning of september.

This is an old house in city center, with a little garden. Sarlat is a medieval small city, near prehistoric spots (Lascaux, Rouffignac, Les Eyzies...), in Dordogne, Périgord noir.

We are a family with a child (4 years old) and a kind old dog, we are both teachers (philosophy and history) and intersting in meeting new people.
We are 32 years old.

We have a bedroom for you, with a double bed, and with a babybed or a air-bed for a child if you need.
Or if you prefer and if you can help to do it, the first floor of the house can be a little flat of 50m2, there is yet WC, we have to make a shower, and to change the windows for a best isolation.

We will give your meals, and hope you can sometimes cooking when we work.
My son and I are vegetarians.

We need help for painting, do-it-yourself, perhaps to make a shower or windows if you are able to do this, or simply housewor... more inside

Hello, we are Hans and Jacqueline, Dutch and friends, living in the hills in the beautiful Parc regional du Morvan. Last 10 years we were in the process of restoring 3 old farms in a hamlet and hope this can be one day the start of an ECOhousing project.
This part of the Burgundy area is so beautiful, and offers plenty of walks, cycling and wild animals and has 4 seasons which have each their own charm. We grow fruit and vegetables organically and follow permaculture principals and aim to be self supporting.
Our old dog is named Guus who still might join you for a walk and we are also happy to have a few Marans chickens and bees.
We love to live in and with nature and offer wildlife an interesting habitat, so it can develop as rich as possible. We could realize a few small projects like a living green roof, a pool for amphibian, nest boxes for birds, hotels for solitary bees and a cellar for bats. Our garden is a registered refuge by the Ligue Pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LP... more inside

Thank you, we have now found someone for September.

*** We are looking for someone from approximately the 3rd until the 23rd september, to help Danielle while we are away on holiday. During this time there will be the usual daily activities and also a project on gait analysis and horse anatomy, so someone with horse experience would be ideal, but not essential. ***

We are an anglo-belgian couple retired to France with our 2 horses, 2 shetland ponies, 2 dogs and chickens. We are active in the local community and there are often events or meals to attend where French is freely spoken. Horses are a big part of our lives.

There is always lots to do, current possible projects include paddock maintenance and painting fences. We would like to take on helpers to help and participate with everyday life, possible jobs include: helping with the horses as a groom (mucking out and poo picking daily, feeding, tacking up, putting out, fencing), cooking, gardening and in the Autumn ... more inside

We love our life here in the beautiful Ariege; having retired early & moved here from England to live our dream. Our cottage-type home is just a 6 minute stroll from the centre of the lovely village of Seix (pronounced "sex"), which is built on the banks of two picturesque rivers, nestling in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
See our website for fuller details of our home and our lovely location.

We need Helpers all year round.

Organic Status: Permaculture Smallholding

Our house is a small renovated stone barn in a beautiful location in the mountains. It is 4km up a forest track, has solar electricity and water from a spring. We're growing as much food as possible while trying to live an off-the-grid, low impact, and sustainable lifestyle. With us are 2 cats, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, 3 horses, 12 ducks, and about 30 chickens (and 2 beehives). We've been growing food organically in the UK for 15 years and now here in France for the last 7. Five years ago, we started gardening using Permaculture principles and we both did a Permaculture Design Course.

As usual, there are always lots of projects and jobs to do. This year we want to re-design our water supply system using gravity-fed methods. We need to build a large chicken house (or two). There is more fencing and water harvesting ditches to dig, we'll be planting more fruit trees and shrubs in the 'forest garden', and we've just started renovating an old stone barn. We are always busy with gener... more inside

*Looking for help during Winter 2014.
Happy to welcome couples or a single female.
Some house sitting required.
*I offer language lessons to helpers wishing to learn English, French or Spanish.

Our home is in the Poitou Charentes, and was built 110 years ago.It has a lovely coach house, small stables and land.
There is an additional property in the form of a small cottage - this is not close to the main house, and is in the process of being renovated.
Initially I am looking for help around the house and the garden. We have a home in the UK also, so helpers would be required to house sit from time to time and take me to the local airport and pick me up when I return. A full driver's license is required.
I am awaiting knee replacement surgery and while I am active and mobile I find some jobs difficult, and that is where I need the help.My husband works in the UK during the week, so some things have become a bit of a logistic problem for me. I am a superb cook so any helpers... more inside

We are Ron and Judi and we have hosted some truly fantastic helpers over the last few years! We have loved meeting every one of them as they have shared a little of our life at La Grand-Mere!

Whilst we now have enough helpers booked in and like to keep the winter free, we might be persuaded to take you but only if you are really special helpers!

During 2014 our work will be quite physical and mostly outside...so we welcome strong, energetic helpers!! The tasks we need help with include replacing paddock fencing, always lots of clearing and weeding, improving our composting system and maybe even renovating our beautiful old bread oven which, whilst complete, is rather weedy and hidden at the moment! Of course, there will always ongoing work maintaining our alpaca accommmodation, including concreting the floor of our hangar and a short race-way area plus paddock work. We need helpers who can use their initiative and if you are mature and have some relevant experience all the b... more inside

We are a young retired couple, travelling several months a year around Europe with our camper.
We speak English German and some Greek. Greek people are very welcome , who have always offered us such a nice hospitality as well as Australian and Kiwi who where so generous with our daughter during her WHV.But of course travellers from all over the world are welcome !

Our house lies 5 km far from "le Touquet", next to Etaples a small fishermen harbour,10 km from Montreuil sur Mer,nice and rich historical town.
We're 45 minutes from Calais and the shuttle.
There's a lot to discover in the area and the beach isn't far at all.

Our very big garden requires helpers most time of the year when we're not on the road.(Work would include pruning, cutting wood, weeding ) Furthermore we're undertaking some renovation works in the house when the weather isn't fine.

.We would enjoy receiving people to help us available 4 - 5 hours a day, 5 days a week., sharing family life and exchangin... more inside
