We are a Dutch Family living in France!
We live on a milk farm of 65 ha., so there's a lot of space :-) We have cows, ponies (the kids can ride on them with a little help), a donkey, 4 dogs and a cat. Our farm is just 500 mts away from the rn 141. On this road you drive 6 km left or right to a small town. Bigger cities are St. Junien (~20 mins), Limoges (~45 mins), Angoulème (~30 mins), Bordeaux (2.5 hours~) and Paris (~4 hours)

(Estimated timings by car)

We have 3 kids: Périne from 9, Isabella from 6 and Marc is 4
The kids speak fluent French and Dutch; they are learning/picking up English from others (English-speaking friends of the family). I (mama) speak fluent French, English, German and Dutch. My husband speaks French, Dutch and English fluently.

Dear volunteers,

As our farm and our children are very laborious, we are almost always looking for extra hands!
Of these extra hands we hope that they are able to work independently, own make decisions, without s... more inside

Right now help is needed for wine harvest and some smaller renovation work on the old stone house. If you can lay a tile floor its really top-dollar. Help for foresting and firewood cutting/stacking is needed as well.

Renovation work consists helping with smaller renovation work here and there, picking cement and make walls nice, making final wall decoration, painting and cleaning.

It is important to be flexible, independent and a self-starter.

We are now picking wine for a small private production and you can learn how to do it the old fashioned way.

Minimum four hours helping per day please.

The farmhouse are situated between 3 small willages in an idyllic wally with a river with fishing posibilities.

There's a terrasse with terrasse pool where to cool down and tan in the summer heat.

The nearest town is St Paul de Fenouillet is 15 minutes drive, and the larger town, Ille sur tet, with a train station is 30 minutes drive.

We also have the privelege of th... more inside

CALLING ALL MOUNTAIN LOVERS!

Come and make the most of all that the mountains and the natural unspoilt environment have to offer!

Many thanks to our fantastic helpers of 2014 who have not only worked hard but have been great fun to have around the place.

We are already taking enquiries for 2015, so contact us early to avoid disappointment!

We, your hosts, Karen and Matthew, are an English couple in our 50's. We have lived in this remote part of France for the past ten years, and have recently moved from a tiny village to an old stone house higher up the valley. The setting is very peaceful, with access by footpath only. We are enjoying the challenge of restoring the land around our new property. It was very overgrown when we bought the house and land, but with such good helpers in 2014 we have made loads of progress. Our aim in 2015 is to continue to develop the work that was done in 2014 and to add a challenging new project, which is restoring a ruined stone barn.

The team currently comprises Carl, Emily, David, Susanna, Dylan (chocolate lab), Jazz (demented working cocker spaniel).

There are 5 C17th stone cottages, 5 stone barns, a ruined cottage, a heated swimming pool plus nearly 30 acres of woodland, lawns, meadow and a steam: all set in the beautiful rolling Morbihan countryside just 25 miles from the stunning southern Brittany coastline.

The aim this autumn / winter is to build a wooden barn from recycled timber; layout a campsite; bring the woodland back into active management utilising low impact silvicultural systems; cut, split, move and stack firewood from our own sustainably managed woodlands; strip and then sympathetically renovate the interior of a beautiful C17th stone cottage; maintain the grounds; domestic cleaning and cooking; clear overgrown woodland tracks and derelict fields; feed the chickens and cats; and many more pr... more inside
