Hello, we are looking for 1 or 2 helpers, for durations of 2-4 weeks, from May through the spring, summer and into the autumn. We would like assistance in gardening, cutting and trimming of trees (chainsaw) and mowing the lawn. I am doing stone mason work and would like assistance with this though the job is easy. All of this work we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. We are chefs from New York City so we offer good food and comfortable accomodation. This helper or helpers must be very neat and punctual for work. We work Tuesday through Saturday with Sun & Mon off. (these days you can switch around) and we work 6 hours each of the 5 days.We have 4 cats and one dog, and bicycles for exploring the area. This is a wonderful experience in autumn as the weather is beautiful. We live in a 600 year old country French Manor House on 52 acres (17 hectares) of land. No experience necessary, just come with a willing nature and a smile! But if you have some experience, that's great!

Both our daughters compete in show jumping and we have two mares and foals. It is a very horsey place so if you love equines, you'll fit in well here!

Come and help. Have fun. Be challenged. End of June, July is the party season. A typical average of around a dozen at table. Lots of opportunity to speak french.
At weekends people often group up and e.g. camp by the Loire, go to a town, cycle, etc…….
Expect a high level of physical and intellectual challenge.
Work: Land maintenance, wood stacking, wall building (you will be shown the theory and practice to a high standard), digging and outside jobs. Domestic stuff. We help out the neighbours- this proves the best opportunity to improve your language.
Optional Woodwork lessons:
Learn woodwork after work. In a very well equipped workshop by an experienced professional.
Projects are based on the length of time you stay; they are small enough that you can take them with you.
1 week stay- a jointed trivet
