Come and share our home in the Canadian wilderness. We are located in the Robson Valley at Tete Jaune Cache, just 10 minutes from Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. We are 1 hour from Jasper, Alberta. Our house overlooks the Fraser River with mountain views on three sides. Most mornings we see deer, bear or moose crossing the river as we drink our coffee on the deck of our cabin.

We are looking for help with landscaping, mowing and gardening. Some minor renovations and painting also need attention. When the work is done, hiking, fishing and just relaxing are right here on our 55 acre property or just minutes away in Mt. Robson Provincial Park.

We live a quiet life in a rural area 20 km from Valemount, the nearest village. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful location in the midst of nature, this is it. Our property is about 75 km North East of Williams Lake (we can pick up helpers at the bus station in Williams Lake). The property is currently being developed for small scale organic market gardening (uncertified but we follow organic methods & principles). We plan to sell veggies, and fruit from our orchard. We are preparing to move out to the property full time, but currently just have two small cabins out there which are used primarily during the summer. We have a large veggie garden, fruit trees and berries, and horses. The property is on a lake, in a beautiful valley which supports an abundance of wildlife. Our lake is in the middle of a chain of 8 lakes, all of which are accessible by canoe. In your time off you can explore the valley, by hiking, biking, canoeing or kayaking. We are Monika and Fred and are developing an organic farm/tourist destination in the wilderness of the West Chilcotin Mountains. Two dogs, a cat, a horses, some chickens and a milk cow are enjoying life with us. The farm is very isolated in a small valley and borders the large Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. We are non-smokers in our early sixties. We are developing 5 acres for organic potato and vegetable production and have built a greenhouse into the mountain side for vegetables requiring more heat. One log cabin, a sauna and a barn are already finished, a second log cabin is close to being finished.

We like to share our life in the wilderness with people who are interested in an experience of living in and with nature and yet enjoy some of nowadays comforts. The opportunities for work experience and wilderness adventure are endless.

We operate a small ranch situated in the Cariboo region of BC. Our extended family is nearby and family events and kids keep everyone involved.
We raise grassfed/finished beef on managed pastures using organic methods.(as yet uncertified). We also raise chickens and pigs for family use and maintain a large vegetable garden to produce healthy food for the family and some for market. This summer we are building a new greenhouse. Our interest in permaculture has initiated some nut tree planting and we are also into our second year with blueberries and Haskap honeyberries. Small scale grain production is another of our emerging enterprises.
In winter there is firewood to haul, cattle to feed, and sometimes fence repairs. We try to get machinery overhauled in the slow season. Helpers must come with warm durable clothing!!!! It can be very cold here.

Helpers would assist with the vegetable garden, barnyard chores, and cattle tending. We move the cattle to new electrically fenced... more inside
