I have recently returned to this wonderful north country and am in the beginning of of starting up a small farm with the goal of creating an employment opportunity for my daughter and several other young people with disabilities. I am at the very beginning of this venture and need a lot of help. I have a daughter with a disability and i am trying to secure a rural future for her.

We live in a very remote area at the foot of a beautiful mountain. Nature presents itself here from its wildest and most beautiful side!

In the winter I need help with snow removal and bringing in firewood, in the spring i want to start fencing and building a chicken coop. I also need an occasional sitter for my daughter, she is doing great but cannot stay overnight alone etc.

I am open to accepting couples as well as children. The most important factor is being able to spend time away from the city!!

We speak German a lot around the house.

We are a large working cattle ranch in the beautiful Chilcotin region of BC where we raise cattle and horses, as well as a small flock of sheep. We run 1000 mother cows, 150-200 replacement heifers, 80 Bulls, a herd of 20 horses and we currently have 3000 acres in forage production. We do all of our cattle work on horseback the old fashioned way. We are a progressive young couple that own the ranch (35 & 43), and we also have other full time employees year round from cowboys to haying crew, contractors etc. We are not certified organic but we do NOT use chemicals, pesticides or implant our animals with hormones. However, we do have a full herd health program that includes vaccinating our animals from disease and we use antibiotics when necessary. Our ranch is located close to the mountains with a river flowing through the whole property and many lakes nearby. The wildlife in this part of BC is incredible with common sightings of bears, moose, deer, wolves and coyotes. There is alwa... more inside
