Hi there,
We're Double D-Lux Trail Riding & Petting Zoo. As our name suggested, we provides trail rides, pony rides, and petting zoo to the public. We also host a non-profit program, which provides equine assisted life skill learning courses/workshops for at-risk youth and children/youth with mental health needs (e.g. autism, FASD, ADHD, etc.)

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working at a ranch, working or learning to work with horses and who would also enjoy taking care of a variety of other small farm animals. Next to working with our horses and other animals we have different projects that we could certainly use some help with, like:

- making and decorating trails
- building cabins/camp area
- cleaning up the terrain
- fixing things, like house repairments, building and repairing fences and such
-
- and many more to think of ;)

Organic Status: none

Our family lives on a beautiful ranch in BC's interior region. The ranch is located along a chain of lakes in a pristine valley. We are 15 minutes from the community of Big Lake and 45 minutes from the City of Williams Lake. My husband and I have two small children and are focusing our efforts on organic food production.

It is the time of year again where we are thinking about prepping and planting out extensive organic gardens. Growing and providing organic food for our family is of the highest priority for us. We have a 50' green house and several large gardens. In the early spring the soil needs to be prepped and then seeds and plant can be planted.

The work will involve managing compost piles, shovel and rotavader work, picking rocks, raking etc and then planting.

We also always have several projects on the go that would require carpentry level skills so if you have is and would like to put them to use, please let us know.

We are looking for a single or ... more inside

Our property is about 75 km North East of Williams Lake (we can pick up helpers at the bus station in Williams Lake). The property is currently being developed for small scale organic market gardening (uncertified but we follow organic methods & principles). We plan to sell veggies, and fruit from our orchard. We are preparing to move out to the property full time, but currently just have two small cabins out there which are used primarily during the summer.
