***URGENT**** IN NEED OF HELPERS FOR JUNE**** Due to the cancellation of a helper i now have space for up to two helpers for the month of June and into July.*********

We are located in a largely forested area with some nice open fields and great trail riding areas just ten minutes out of town of Smithers. Helpers are welcome all year round: Next to 20 horses and ponies there are donkeys, sheep, goats, llamas, rabbits and chickens that want to be fed twice a day. Catching, brushing and saddling up horses for the trailrides is your mission as well as handling young horses to get them used to people.

If you are already a horse person, that's great, if not we will help you at the beginning until you become confident around them. There is also always fencing and other farm duties to do as well as farm maintenance.

Especially during the summertime, there are special events coming up where we do ponyrides for young children where we will need your help for leading ponies.

Welcome to our north Cariboo cattle ranch and garden market! We offer the opportunity to engage in a quiet , hardworking, back to basics way of life that reconnects people with the land, it's creatures and all that can be produced from the soil. We believe in both self and environmental sustainability which translates into ever decreasing consumerism. We are a "middle aged" couple who live the enviable ranching lifestyle which many people can only dream about. Both Dave and Rosie come from a traditional background with very strong work ethics. We enjoy working hard as well as taking time for recreation and relaxation when time permits.
Buck Ridge Ranch and Gardens is located approximately 40 kilometers south of Quesnel, BC. Learning opportunities are varied - anything from crop and vegetable production to animal husbandry; as well as forestry related activities, construction/building projects and eco projects etc. Our proximity to the Fraser River and vast tracts of crown land pr... more inside

We operate a small ranch situated in the Cariboo region of BC. Our extended family is nearby and family events and kids keep everyone involved.
We raise grassfed/finished beef on managed pastures using organic methods.(as yet uncertified). We also raise chickens and pigs for family use and maintain a large vegetable garden to produce healthy food for the family and some for market. This summer we are building a new greenhouse.
Helpers would assist with the vegetable garden, barnyard chores, and cattle tending. We move the cattle to new electrically fenced enclosures daily. We also appreciate helpers who contribute something of their own interest.eg. cooking, child care, carpentry.
Our lakeside log home offers comfortable rooms, laundry, internet use, and a piano. We offer room and board in exhange for farm help.
This is great location for an outdoor enthusiast as our semi wilderness location offers canoeing, swimming, and hiking opportunities right from our house. Volunteer... more inside

We have a 2-week opening 5/23-6/6 for one or two helpers. Come help us plant seeds, milk goats, build outbuildings, and make cheese! We also have openings for helpers starting late July through December.

Our farm is a magnificent 51 acres of forest and pasture, in the heart of the rugged Coast Mountains on 1/4 mile of Bella Coola riverfront. Abundant wildlife such as grizzlies, black bears, wolves and incredible bird life on the property, close to the ocean. Stay in our private cabin (we also have a beautiful vintage 1967 Airstream trailer for overflow accommodations - you will share the cabin kitchen and cabin or house bathroom, but have your own sleeping and hang-out space). We are in need of mature, self-motivated helpers who can help us rebuild our home and fences which were damaged by severe flooding 2 years ago, build and develop a roadside produce stand, and move farm buildings out of the flood plain. Carpentry skills and cooking skills preferred but not necessary. F... more inside

Organic Status: Not certified, but practice organic principles

Our property is about 75 km North East of Williams Lake (we can pick up helpers at the bus station in Williams Lake). The property is currently being developed for small scale organic market gardening (uncertified but we follow organic methods & principles). We plan to sell veggies, and fruit from our orchard. We are preparing to move out to the property full time, but currently just have two small cabins out there which are used primarily during the summer. We have a large veggie garden, fruit trees and berries, and horses. The property is on a lake, in a beautiful valley which supports an abundance of wildlife. Our lake is in the middle of a chain of 8 lakes, all of which are accessible by canoe. In your time off you can explore the valley, by hiking, biking, canoeing or kayaking. Other things you can do include swimming, fishing and windsurfing. Our helpers typically stay in tents (with a bed) as our cabins are both very small. All of our guests have enjoyed sleeping out in the t... more inside

This is a waterfront heritage home with a three-bedroom cottage separate from the main house.
Cheerful and comfortable, this place is at the shore of beautiful Shingle Bay in Sandspit.
Sandspit offers easy access to tours of Gwaii Haanas, kayaking adventures, fishing charters, birdwatching, and beachcombing.
This year, I will also operate a small Hostel as well as the B&B.

As I am also working at the local visitor centre this summer, I will need help with keeping the place clean and tidy. There is also an ornamental garden to take care of, a vegetable garden and a small greenhouse.
It will be possible for you, if you wish, to interact with guests. It is very informal and people are friendly and outgoing.
People visiting the islands find it a very relaxing and peaceful place.
There are daily flights from Vancouver to Sandspit, where the property is located, and also a ferry coming from Prince Rupert a few times a week. I can come and pick you up at the ferry.

I am a ... more inside
