Organic Status: organic farm non certified

We operate a small ranch situated in the Cariboo region of BC. Our extended family is nearby and family events and kids keep everyone involved.
We raise grassfed/finished beef on managed pastures using organic methods.(as yet uncertified). We also raise chickens and pigs for family use and maintain a large vegetable garden to produce healthy food for the family and some for market. This summer we are building a new greenhouse.
In winter there is firewood to haul, cattle to feed, and sometimes fence repairs. We try to get machinery overhauled in the slow season. Helpers must come with warm durable clothing!!!! It can be very cold here.

Helpers would assist with the vegetable garden, barnyard chores, and cattle tending. We move the cattle to new electrically fenced enclosures daily. We also appreciate helpers who contribute something of their own interest. eg. cooking, child care, carpentry.
Our lakeside log home offers comfortable rooms, laundry, internet use, and a piano. We... more inside

This is a small sheep and cattle ranch in the beautiful Cariboo of northern BC. There are a variety of projects on the go and the ranch can use some helping hands. Our projects for 2015 are finishing off the roof and siding of the barn, building corrals and clearing one of the hillsides for a hayfield. We are organic practicing but not certified.

Our lambs will be coming early this year in February and calving this June. The garden gets planted at the end of May,and moving animals to and from pasture is a daily chore. We work hard but we take time out to ride the horses and explore the countryside. We enjoy taking our homestay guest to local events such as the annual rodeo, fall fair or meeting friends at the lake, a hike or horseback ride.

We are looking for someone starting in April through October, who can be trusted to work independently when needed. We work on the ranch and away from home. Our livestock is protected by guardian dogs (large white dog seen in photo... more inside

Organic Status: none

Our family lives on a beautiful ranch in BC's interior region. The ranch is located along a chain of lakes in a pristine valley. We are 15 minutes from the community of Big Lake and 45 minutes from the City of Williams Lake. My husband and I have two small children and are focusing our efforts on organic food production.

It is the time of year again where we are thinking about prepping and planting out extensive organic gardens. Growing and providing organic food for our family is of the highest priority for us. We have a 50' green house and several large gardens. In the early spring the soil needs to be prepped and then seeds and plant can be planted.

The work will involve managing compost piles, shovel and rotavader work, picking rocks, raking etc and then planting.

We also always have several projects on the go that would require carpentry level skills so if you have is and would like to put them to use, please let us know.

We are looking for a single woma... more inside
