BNR sheep ranch is nestled alongside a beautiful mountain range. Our family includes two teenagers and three young children ages two years, five years and six years old. At times we also need help with the children. Bruce is Australian and Rene is Canadian. We can watch wild mountain goats from the dining room of our home. Although we are off the power grid, we offer television, cell phone service and unlimited free internet and unlimited free international calling. Our farm is 3km off the highway in a very private setting. Work is mainly feeding animals and sustaining our farm/country life. Lambs are arriving everyday and need our help. We have a large supply of cross-country ski equipment helpers can use and lots of places to ski once the snow comes. The Chandler family likes to have fun! We are both on FB

I am a self employed carpenter(www.finelinecarpentry.ca) with a beautiful piece of land on the Sangan river outside of Masset on northern Haida Gwaii. I am a short 4 minute walk to the expansive and breathtaking North Beach where you can easily catch your own crabs and dig razorclams for dinner or simply just beach-comb. Everything here on my land is still in the early stages, but I do have the beginnings of an awesome organic garden. I am converting a bus into a living space, and have for helpers a 'mushroom shack'(a somewhat temporary shelter often used by commercial mushroom pickers as they follow the crop) in the forest in which I have lived myself during past summers. It has running water and a woodstove and hydro, but if your a tenter at heart there are some great spots around also.
life's been good for me. i have met many people through the years on travels of my own, people who provided good space and good experience, and now I'm at the point I can offer a way for others... more inside

Skeena Meadows is a 685 acre property situated in the Coast Mountains on the famous Skeena River. We provide lodging for sporting enthusiasts who enjoy the finer things in life while in pursuit of wild salmon, steelhead, pheasant, ducks and geese. The property is a working farm producing hay and market garden vegetables. We provide released pheasants for guests to hunt with either our dogs and guide or with their own dog. We are looking for individuals or couples to help with gardening, firewood, cutting and general farm duties. We also work with fisheries on a salmon spawning stream that flows through the property. We are looking for people to start in May with primary focus on the garden and farming with lots of other side jobs to keep it interesting. During our operating season (August - November) we will require housekeepers, kitchen help and a hunt assistant. This is a very beautiful part of Canada and a once in a lifetime adventure!

Organic Status: organic farm non certified

We operate a small ranch situated in the Cariboo region of BC. Our extended family is nearby and family events and kids keep everyone involved.
We raise grassfed/finished beef on managed pastures using organic methods.(as yet uncertified). We also raise chickens and pigs for family use and maintain a large vegetable garden to produce healthy food for the family and some for market. This summer we are building a new greenhouse. Our interest in permaculture has initiated some nut tree planting and we are also into our second year with blueberries and Haskap honeyberries. Small scale grain production is another of our emerging enterprises.
In winter there is firewood to haul, cattle to feed, and sometimes fence repairs. We try to get machinery overhauled in the slow season. Helpers must come with warm durable clothing!!!! It can be very cold here.

Helpers would assist with the vegetable garden, barnyard chores, and cattle tending. We move the cattle to new electrically fenced... more inside
