Skeena Meadows is a 685 acre property situated in the Coast Mountains on the famous Skeena River. We provide lodging for sporting enthusiasts who enjoy the finer things in life while in pursuit of wild salmon, steelhead, pheasant, ducks and geese. The property is a working farm producing hay and market garden vegetables. We provide released pheasants for guests to hunt with either our dogs and guide or with their own dog. We are looking for individuals or couples to help with gardening, firewood, cutting and general farm duties. We also work with fisheries on a salmon spawning stream that flows through the property. We are looking for people to start in May with primary focus on the garden and farming with lots of other side jobs to keep it interesting. During our operating season (August - November) we will require housekeepers, kitchen help and a hunt assistant. This is a very beautiful part of Canada and a once in a lifetime adventure!

Expect to live a low-footprint lifestyle and make the most of what nature provides in this fertile piece of land beside a major salmon-bearing river. We're located close to several trails for alpine or valley bottom access, and a provincial park great for swimming, canoeing and fishing. This 50 acre farm runs on solar power and is off-grid. We are located half-way between Prince Rupert and Prince George with the nearest airports being Smithers and Terrace, bus and train access is also convenient. Learn how to plan and plant a garden for one year's food supply, then preserve it all through drying and canning. Livestock butchering and smoking fish are highly probable activities. Animals on the farm include three amazing dogs, two half-brother llamas, and eight Shetland sheep. You will have private quarters and share amenities in the main house such as showers, laundry, wi-fi and library. This year we also have a 1/2 acre of brewing hops under observation and there will be lots of weed... more inside
