I am a fine woodworker, a poet, a freak, and a fucknut, with an amazing piece of rural property on the Sangan river in northern Haida Gwaii, 100 meters from Naikoon provincial park. I have the beginnings of a beautiful organic garden nestled amongst some old growth cedars and have some building projects on the go which of course could always use some helping hands.
I am a self employed tradesperson, self employed because i don't like working all time, but i do need to make money sometimes, so that means i am not always home, and this means that i don't necessarily expect too much from folks when i'm off at a jobsite. this leaves a few different arrangements between myself and my guests, one being the fact that you may be responsible many days for making your own meals and such. generally i'd say what seems to work out around here is 5-ish hours will get ya all your meals. but because of course you've got your own contained place to stay, if you want some slower days that's fine, ie... more inside

BNR sheep ranch is nestled alongside a beautiful coastal mountain range. Our family includes two twenty-year old children and three young children ages two years, five years and seven years old. Bruce is Australian and Rene is Canadian. We can watch wild mountain goats from the dining room of our home. Although we are off the power grid, we offer television, cell phone service and unlimited free internet and unlimited free international calling. Our farm is 3km off the highway in a very private setting. Work is mainly feeding animals and sustaining our farm/country life. Lambs are on the ground and sheep are grazing now. Horses are in need of grooming and riding. Work includes fixing fences, chopping firewood and feeding animals. We also need help with the children. The Chandler family likes to have fun! We are both on FB. Come experience outback BC!

Located 15km beyond beautiful, unique, and historic Telegraph Creek in the Stikine Valley of NW BC, 3 Sisters is a rustic and gorgeous property of 28 acres. It is situated on unceeded Tahltan (First Nations) Territory.
There is an endless variety of things to do in your off-time, including kayaking/canoeing the Stikine River or nearby lakes; hiking/climbing Glenora Mt. (I live at the base of it) or any number of trails in the area; fishing for salmon in season, trout all year; boating--I've got the boat--sight-seeing/photography, the list goes on.
I'm seeking help as follows: help build my attached greenhouse; minor carpentry work in and out of my log house (with frame addition); minor fencing work; help either fix or tear down our original house (across the creek); build a fish-house; help install my wood-stove-connected hot water system; help maintain--and EAT--the large and productive garden; I could go on, but there is always PLENTY to do in such a lifestyle.

We are a family run ranch in a remote area of British Columbia. We run a 600 head commercial cow/calf operation and have about 50 head of horses. We operate a trailriding outfit (7-16 day trips) in the nearby mountains during July and August.
We have 2 young boys (7 and 10) that are very active and involved in all aspects of our ranch. We are looking for someone to who is interested in helping out on the ranch in general. Chores and duties will depend on the time of year and your abilities and interests of course, but could include range riding, driving cattle, fixing fence, irrigating, household chores, pulling beaver dams, riding the quad or snowmobile etc etc. You will be asked to help out with the boys occasionally too, perhaps to pick them up from school or cook them a simple dinner if the day has gotten too long.
Our horses are gently started and then learn as they go on the ranch and in the mountains. They are almost all out during the winter as we really don't star... more inside

We are a large working cattle ranch in the beautiful Chilcotin region of BC where we raise cattle and horses, as well as a small flock of sheep. We run 1000 mother cows, 150 replacement heifers, 60 Bulls, a herd of 15-20 horses and we currently have 3000 acres in forage production. We do all of our cattle work on horseback the old fashioned way. We are a progressive young couple that own the ranch (34 & 42) and we also have other full time employees year round from cowboys to haying crew, contractors etc. We are not certified organic but we do NOT use chemicals, pesticides or implant our animals with hormones. However, we do have a full herd health program that includes vaccinating our animals from disease and we use antibiotics when necessary. Our ranch is located close to the mountains with a river flowing through the whole property and many lakes nearby. The wildlife in this part of BC is incredible with common sightings of bears, moose, deer, wolves and coyotes. There is always... more inside
