Back in Europe after a long, sometimes difficult, yet adventurous trip in South America. Now enjoying a very hot summer and some much needed rest back at the family home in North Wales - especially after being rather ill after swimming in a polluted lake :-( 'Accidents will happen'... sometimes. Looking forward to getting out into the 'wilds' of Europe again; new horizons perhaps... New friends; sharing; life; love; adventure :-) North American Indian poetry: There was a time, when I saw the world Coyote lives in. I had walked up, with a friend – once upon a time, behind the rocks; the big ones that rise up, mossy-greened, and cradle the forest-shadowed ponds that the ducks and moose love, to seek the slight-sloping, grassy meadow hidden behind them. We half-lay for hours in the tall emerald grass among the ancient trees that towered over the drifting textures of the land. While our elbows supported us we talked of plants, and stones, and the wisdom of moss. Slowly we began, as humans sometimes do, to slip into the wildness of the world. Our language began to slow down, pause and falter. Into silence we drifted and for some reason that only our souls understood that day we flowed with it, not talking. Colours became more vivid and the air began to sparkle. Our breathing and the sounds of the forest took on a luminous quality. And into this silence Coyote ambled, following a game trail that flowed, brown runnel, near our feet. Her tongue lolled out the side of her mouth, and she was laughing that crazy laugh Coyote has, while her eyes spun as she watched the dancing bones that lie under the fabric of the world. Crazy, gambolling Coyote. Third force in Universe. I said under my breath, “Turn your head to the right.” And my friend sat up and said, “What?” And in so doing, lost her chance to see. I, still watching, saw Coyote’s eyes shift out of that crazy, spinning universe and shocked, no, betrayed, by the secrecy of our immersion she flipped straight over and ran, tail between her legs, only some strange kind of dog, up the trail. What I glimpsed through Coyote’s eyes lodged in a part of my brain I did not know I had. I can reach out and touch it sometimes. My eyes begin to spin, and I feel a bit dizzy, and I can see dancing bones under the fabric of the world. I still do not know what the world that Coyote lives in does when no one is watching but I do know it is ancient, far beyond the species lifetime of humans and that next to it our world is only a chip of wood floating on the ocean. One of my own: Wild... Born to be Wild, we are of the Earth, Yet I well understand how we've given birth, To a system of death, within it life dies, But we give it life, as we give it our lives. What happened to peace, to love for our brother, To love for an Earth we should see as our Mother? When we've distanced ourselves from the soil and the trees, Do we hear the life in the birds and the bees? When we give life to objects, not even alive, Polluters, destroyers, the machines that we drive; The machines that we cherish; the machines in our lives. Or do they drive us, hey can you not see, That without them our lives would be truly free? We're born into freedom, why make ourselves slaves, To a futile Hell, to help dig our own graves? When we poison our waters, our air and our lands, Then we poison ourselves, and from our own hands! I'd rather see trees, as my living friends, Than drive long roads, in a Mercedes Benz! Yea I know in my heart it's the ignorant few, Who still feel we're “right” to pollute as we do: This Spirit of Power, of Industrial Greed, Of Military Might, and Media Need, In abiding by these we imprison our souls, Great folly and madness is out of control, But there's plenty I know, who are not so bent, On senseless destruction and whose time is spent, In the knowledge that quiet, resides at our door, At Peace with our Mother, turning once more, Her turns are our Soul, our Spirit, our Home... As no slave to man, no slave to his dock, To his silly laws, or his ticking clock, For my law is Nature, and She says to me, That I have Her Spirit and She makes me Free.

Hey, I am in Manly, Sydney. Heading to regional work, possibly in QLD. I would enjoy meeting someone who is going to the farm as well. I am not looking for paid jobs. My interest is on helping and learning about the sustainable farms.

I am not actively looking for a travel partner but i am always open to meeting up with other solo travellers for some adventures. I have no set plans come January but would like to visit Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and am open to anywhere else. I am a pretty laid back traveller I prefer to stay in places longer than a couple days so i can take in the lifestyle of where i am. I'm a nurse but am travelling to get away from work ha. I thoroughly enjoy cooking and learning to cook foods wherever i travel as well eating food : ). I'm not a heavy drinker but do enjoy red wine or a cold beer here and there. If you are at all interested send me a message. I will do the same. Also couchsurf and use workaway - same idea as helpx. I love the outdoors.

*Looking to travel soon. Currently working to $ave* I'm curious as to what the experience of travelling with a companion is like. I don't care about your age/gender/etc.. We all have much to learn from those that are both older and younger, no? I do, however, prefer a French/Spanish/Japanese speaker. This is because I have lots of interest in learning these languages. :) I'm active, easy-going, and open-minded. I want to fulfill my life-long goal of surfing!! And of course, there's no obligation to stick together as I'd also eventually enjoy the experience of being a solo traveller. I'll see you soon ?

Hi, I'm looking for somebody (or a group) who want to visit the Kakadu NP. I want to be in Darwin in the timeframe 31/07-15/08 and would like to go for some days. I'm a happy camper and a good cook, but unfortunately I don't have a ride, so ether you have one or we would have to hire... Cheers  Fabian

At times, traveling alone sounds very peaceful and healthy. Other times, I think it would be nice to travel with someone, especially someone I do not know. I am looking for someone who is in a similar point in life, self-realization and finding true being. I want to travel to Italy, more than any other country, but I would love to see as much of the world as I can. Right now, I am planning to try and leave the US for Europe in early June and return mid August. I feel I get along better with women, I connect easier and appreciate the perspective of a woman, being the opposite sex. But I am open to anyone and everyone who is searching for self.

I would love to find someone who would want to travel with me that also happens to train in MMA. As I stated in my about me section I have had 6 amateur cage fights and would like to continue my training when I have the time to do so. I feel too invested in it to just completely give it up. It would obviously be ideal if we were around the same size... I am probably looking to start out in Greece and from there would like to hit a few different spots in Europe. France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Italy are all on the list. I will eventually make my way into Asia. Once I begin traveling in January there is no set date on when I will return.. Cheers! 5 foot 9 inches tall, 155 LB's

Yes I would be very open to having a companion. Mostly because I speak only English and I could use help learning other languages, and I think it would be fun with another person.

I am planning on heading to New Zealand in October or November from the US (probably out of LAX). I would really like to find someone in the US prior to leaving for NZ. This will be my first big trip and I hope it will be the start to lots of travel! I want to see everything the country has to offer and would love to have someone to share those experiences with! I'm a fun, friendly person and I enjoy spending my time outside hiking, running and trying anything else that comes up. My plan is to do a lot of camping, staying in hostels and traveling throughout the country.

Hi ya'll. I am looking for a travel companion beginning in August or September of this year. I have spent months saving and I am basically ready to leave, but I just can't narrow down the choices of where I'd like to go! I am open to any itinerary in the United States or elsewhere. My ideal companion would be easy to get along with and speak fluent English. We can start this journey together or I could meet with someone who is already travelling for their next adventure. More About Me: I am a very open and honest individual and I am easy to get along with. I am a free spirit and very open to other ideas and cultures. I have a B.S. In Journalism and a M.S. in Social Work. My hobbies include fishing, kayaking, camping, live music, and sightseeing. If interested, I can be reached by email: aarnold1585 at aol.com or kik messenger: asha_5

I am always looking to connect with new people. I'm currently in southern India volunteer teaching at Shanti Bhavan, a boarding school for economically disadvantaged children. I'll be in India until early April. For the month of April I will be traveling in and around Nepal. Most of that month will be exploring Kathmandu and trekking in the Langtang National Forest. I land at the London Heathrow Airport on May 1st. From there, who knows! My plans are entirely fluid. I'll just see what opportunities arise and follow them if they're worth following. If your plans even partially match this, let me know!

Anyone want to plan a trip to Barcelona? I'm a college student from Los Angeles, California looking to travel with someone in Spain and/or Eastern Europe and get to really know the countries, working and getting immersed in the culture. I'm very easy to talk to and there is never a language barrier with me. I speak English, French, some Spanish and attempting to learn German.

"I'm looking for someone to share in an adventure". One of my goals for my trip to NZ, in addition to meeting locals and exploring the country (South Island) is to meet up with a fellow HelpXer's for either a long or short duration. My preference would be to meet up with someone from another country than my own (USA) for additional culture exposure. To make things more interesting I'd prefer to team up with a female, but this is definitely not a requirement. I would like to move around the North Island and meet as many different people and see as many different places as is possible. Some of the things I'd like to see/do: -Fjords -Hobbiton Movie Set -Visit the Rain Forrest -Golden Bay Beach's -Go on a hike somewhere -Get some kayaking or maybe horse riding in Open to other ideas and activities as well! I am also open to helping to buy a car for transportation if needed. Also, I am licensed to operate motorcycles/dirt-bikes and would do that as well- but I'm making an assumption most people would prefer a car. I'll be bringing a bunch of camping supplies to be as prepared as possible to stay anywhere. Some of the gear I'll be bringing: -2 person tent -sleeping pad -first aid, flashlight(torch), digital compass, backpack, water purification straw, alcohol stove, ect.

I'd like to walk the Camino to Santiago de Campostela from France to Northern Spain at the rate of about 15 to 20 km. per day and would be interested in corresponding with anyone who has already done this or is planning a similar trip. Also, I'd like to Germany and Austria in Spring of 2015.
