Looking for a bit of work in a cool chilled out place, to take a break on your travels up or down the East Coast? We offer good clean accommodation, breakfast, unlimited free wifi and so much more for 2.5 hours work per day. We have a minimum stay of 2 weeks and are more than happy to extend for enthusiastic people. We are only a couple of minutes drive from town and some of the most beautiful beaches in Queensland for you to explore and there are lots of tours you can experience while you are here. Agnes Water / Town of 1770 is one of those little coastal towns that has not been over run by tourists. We are still known as "Queensland's Best Kept Secret" and we are located at the most protected part of the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. We are the last surfing spot heading north or the first heading south and we are Stinger free, so you can swim at our beaches all year round. Don't expect lots of shops, tourists and nightlife but we do have lots of fun at the hostel as we have a cheap backpacker Bar, party nights and a huge camp fire to party around in the evenings. Basically, you get to experience here, what Australian coastal towns were like 20/30 years ago. Beaches where the only footprints you will see in the sand are your own and a lovely little friendly town where people actually will give you a smile and say Gidday! If you are an animal lover, we have a dog, a cat and a horse who need love and care, plus you may get to meet the occasional wild kangaroos who hop in for a visit. We are a family built & family owned hostel. You will find Agnes Water/town of 1770 on the Map of Australia's east coast between Bundaberg and Gladstone. Bus services are run by Greyhound and Premier and we can arrange for you to be picked up from the bus stops.
