!!Thanks to all helpers throughout the years. The trees are growing well and endangered critters can be found on a regular base now, too!!

"Going green" since 2010 I appreciate any support with all the manual work in establishing permaculture on a previously uncultivated half acre block with a typical, simple NZ miners' cottage and a sleep out.

There's always general gardening, weeding, cutting lawns or firewood, house keeping, that need attention, even cooking if you like to learn how to manage a coal range. Any (matured) person experienced in e.g. carpentry, building, painting is especially welcome and appreciated.
At the moment renovation is in process with digging up water and sewage lines on the property, removing fences and some painting.

I try to keep it simple: you work 2 hours/head/day for your accommodation in an (unheated) caravan. If I can't offer more work for some reason you might find yourself helping out in the community or providing for yourself. Otherwise I offer 1 meal for 1 hour work/head/day. The timing is flexible and depends on e.g. the weather and what's appropriate at the time.

Location: remote but beautiful back country of Western Southland with stunning views onto Takitimu Ranges and Fjordland; 40 min drive to Orepuki with it's 'Gemstone Beach'; ideal 4 cycling and hiking with good roads and little traffic; 1 pushbike is available. The lakes Hauroko, Monovai, Manopouri and others are in range and a double Kajak with all gear is available. The heated pool is open from (approximately) October till May. Please, consider: we don't have public transport and the next shop is 7 km away in Nightcaps.- C u when I c u!!
