Our next available helpx start dates are from March 10. We host helpers for up to 2 weeks per visit.

We love to share our home, hospitality and knowledge with willing volunteers who bring their enthusiasm and youthful energy to help us with our garden and forest rehabilitation projects. Our home is still under construction but it is very comfortable and in a beautiful and peaceful forest that has kangaroos, wallabies, possums, various reptiles, and over 100 species of beautiful birds visiting at various times through the year.
We provide good food, comfortable accommodation and occasional transport to Noosa beach or other sightseeing, in exchange for 28 hours help per week, this averages to 4 hours help for each day you stay.

The food:
Breakfast, lunch and snacks; help yourself to the available ingredients and prepare your own breakfast, lunch and snacks with bread, cereal, oats, rice, pasta, noodles, beans, meat, tuna, eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt, fruit, vegetables, and various spreads and condiments.
Dinner: The hosts will prepare you a delicious and filling main meal from a range of recipes and occasionally some dessert.
Drinks: A range of teas, drip-filtered coffee, iced tea and refreshing rainwater is available at any time.

The Accommodation:
Helpers travelling together get their own large room with comfortable beds and a tv and dvd player.

Leisuretime: The outdoor areas are really lovely and great for relaxing. After helping, you can go for a walk, play board games or lay back in the shaded hammocks and read or listen to music through the Bluetooth stereo. Or you can rest, read or watch a movie in your room from our dvd collection.

Water Use: We rely on rainfall for water supply so please be mindful of water use and limit showers to 5 minutes.

Smoking: We are non-smokers and so are all of our friends and family. We don't like the smell of cigarette smoke so we request helpers who smoke; do it outside in the smoking area and dispose of butts in a container.

Help Required:
Outdoor help includes strenuous work such as digging, weed clearing, tree-planting, mulching, driveway maintenance and landscaping. If you plan on getting paid work in Australia, picking fruit or doing labouring work in Australia, you can build your muscles and strength as well as practice your English skills here to prepare for your working holiday. Sometimes we need help indoors, including cleaning and surface preparation such as sanding timber, cleaning walls, floors and windows, sorting tools and kitchen cupboards, putting flat packs together, etc. Feel free to listen to music while you are busy.

Work Attire: We provide protective equipment where required, gumboots for wet weather and spare work clothes in various sizes for you to use if you wish.

Testimonials: Ask us and we will provide you with a testimonial on your helpx page or references to use to gain paid work.

Locality: We live 14kms from Gympie, which is a very scenic Australian country town, 2 hours north of Brisbane and an hour from the Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, and Rainbow Beach, where you can arrange for a tour of Fraser Island.

Getting here: The Bruce Highway runs through Gympie as do the trains and buses that travel north from Brisbane and south from Bundaberg, Airlie and Cairns.

Pick-up: Is from Gympie bus terminal or Gympie North Train Station on any day, arranged in advance.

We look forward to hearing from you by message through the helpx website.

May you have safe travels with sunny skies and many smiling faces to greet you everywhere you go.
