Hola Great Travelling People of the World. Thanks for taking a look at our profile.

Ideally, we are looking for volunteers for December, January & February 2013 who have worked on similar types of projects to those below. We hope there is a great opportunity for people with a real passion for eco builds and self sustainability.

We have just finished planning out the new site layout at West Lexham, which has been very exciting. We're now in the process of designing and planning the builds of:

2 Tree Houses
2 Hoppers Eco Huts
1 small thatched hut

We are also designing and building all the furniture for these new homes using only reclaimed materials from West Lexham. This is a continuous and exciting job we find ! We even have a special T-Shirt for the most creative piece each month! I'm yet to win!

Plans for a hobbit home are being made and should (we hope) also be built before May 2013. We are also converting our barn into an events space in February.

Alongside this there are a lot of other tasks we do in the winter to maintain the site, Painting, Cleaning, Chopping Wood, Pointing.

Most of the work is outdoors unless you're skill is graphic or web design and fancy doing a few days a week with our marketing manager as well as the outdoor work.

You live and sleep in Hall Cottage in twin rooms. It's warm, cozy, secure and lovely! We can accommodate up to 4 people at any one time. The village hall becomes your beautiful living room in the evenings and is the office during the daytime.

Please also have a look at our websites, see links above.

We try to keep to set hours, 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. We generally have a two week trail to see how everyone is getting on and are open to both long and short term stays, dependent on the need and position of the project.

A normal working week is Monday to Friday (9am 4pm) with 1 hour lunch and x2 15 mins breaks during the day.

The reason we are able to do all of the above in such a short time frame is that in June 2012 unfortunately our main building was involved in a horrific fire. We have needed to completely shut down to the public since. Amongst the pain it caused seeing our work disappear we want to rise again and be one of the best examples of self sustainable living and creatively, ethical and community focused centres in the UK.

Thanks for looking at our profile. Harry.
