Our Eco-Resort is located in a remote area of New York State surrounded by 56,000 acres of State Forest. Our place was conceived and built as a family project with my wife Barbara, and three Children. Our oldest son, Mickael, and his wife, Tammy, are now the managers. We have been in operation for nearly 30 years. For most of the week we operate as a remote and contemplative getaway for nature lovers. Every Sunday and Wednesday we become the cultural center in the community as we showcase live music from local artists and serve our famous brick-oven pizza.

I am now a young 74 and have a degree in structural engineering as well as a BFA in Art and Design. I am a master carpenter and builder. My present ambition is Adirondack Style Rustic Furniture. In between traveling abroad, I continue to work on selected woodworking projects and building additional accommodations for our resort. My wife Barbara and I have been happily married for 51 years.

For Spring/Summer 2014 work continues on the all season pavilion. Able bodied person possessing a creative spirit & solid work ethic will have the opportunity to work with a true master at his craft. Volunteers will be involved with all levels of construction from cutting down trees, to working on a sawmill to cabin construction. This is very hands-on work.

For Summer 2014 (July/Aug/Sept)Our Eco-Resort is essentially run like a traditional bed and breakfast, including breakfast and dinner for our guests renting cabins. Volunteers would be helping with a variety of tasks including baking pizzas in our brick-oven for our twice-weekly Pizza/Music Nights; preparing rooms for guests; meal preparation for guests; organic gardening; other lodge-related tasks as required. There is also grounds maintenance as well as eco-projects to work on. We try to find work that fits the skills and interests of our volunteers and there is always a lot to be done.

In exchange for working 5 hours daily (depending on what needs to be done that day) we provide comfortable accommodations and meals; and days off so you can explore the area. (Please note: We are not located near New York City. We are in a very remote area surrounded by woodlands. Without a car it is very difficult to get around.)

Gear to bring: as we are located in the woods, it is recommended that you dress in layers, according to the season. It is always good to have a sturdy pair of boots, a canteen or water bottle and you may want to bring a head light or flash light for night time travels. Keep in mind that we are an eco-resort, while we have a land line and limited internet access in the office, we do not get cell phone or television reception.
