We are a small Paint Horse stud in Ayr, North Queensland. We are a young husband & wife team with a 2 year old son.
We pride ourselves on breeding smart well minded all rounders with the added bonus of colour. Our training techniques are based on natural horsemanship foundations,to create lasting relationships with all of our horses, to create confidence in ourselves & our training, taking the time it takes, & building solid foundations on trust & respect. The relationships I have with my horses is in par with the relationships I have with people. And are valued in the same respect. Our show horses compete in Western Pleasure, Cutting & Reining disciplines. So a lot of ground schooling & flat work riding is necessary. On occasions we may get the opportunity to muster cattle, but do not have cattle on our property. We also live close to the beach & do take the horses to the beach for a change of scenery. We are fortunate enough to live close enough to some of the nicest beaches in the country, which always makes our rides pleasurable. As we are situated in town, there is limited space to trail ride, but have a nice park land area to ride & train the horses in. The work required consists mainly of a couple of hours in the morning & afternoon with the horses. We currently have 5 horses, 1 of which is in foal & another is unbroken. However is to be broke in a few months, & then to be ridden daily there after. I have one young stallion that has not long been broken in & is super quiet. The other 2 are geldings. All quiet & very respectful around everyone horse knowledgeable or not.

Work requirements would consist in feeding, watering, handling, feet trims, rugging, grooming, fencing, some minimal house hold duties, show prep, etc. Any one that were to stay with us would in turn receive lessons on horsemanship & training show horses from babies to mature horses. Ground schooling to riding. Some horse knowledge would be preferred, but not entirely necessary. However a love of horses is necessary, & know that getting dirty will some what be required at times.
Tolerance of children is a must, as we have a 2yr old that is quite capable of driving us all nuts. But he is a wonderful kid. Just loud & annoying at times like all 2 year olds are.
We are very family orientated, hard working, enjoyable easy going people. Who don't take ourselves seriously, can have a laugh, & be good company. But do require the right results in our horses & the right attitude in our horses & ourselves. So boundaries are established, training is progressive & showing is as successful as can be. But we do enjoy a beer & a laugh at the end of the day. And we have plenty of those.
Email is the best contact for me as I am always in & out & all about. But do get to sit down after my son goes to bed to check my emails.
I look forward to your interest!
