ACCEPTING HELPERS FOR LATE SEPT or OCTOBER 2014. I was a woofer in a village nearby some years ago! Now I live here! In 2011 and 2013 we had helper and it went great, so we hope to enjoy your company this year...Rural small Spanish family-run chestnut farm in the white mountain village Farajan, between the famous blue smurf village and Fray Leopoldo´s home village. On workdays (4 days weekly, flexible on choice of days), the finca is about a 40 minute picturesque drive from Ronda (city), where we live in a flat. Our spare bedroom can accomodate 2 friends max, with use of your own bathroom. Workday will run about 9:00am to 5pm, not including Drive. You might like to choose to stay some days at the Virgen de Moclon campground right on the river (tent provided, fees apply), which is on the way to the finca. Flexible on/off days since work is intensive. Fruit and nut trees, vegetable garden and pigs and century-old home renovation in progress in remote Alto Genal River Valley, but work is mainly about the chestnuts. Meals and accommodations with family offered or other camping arrangement available if desired. Access to Ronda and Mediterranean for sightseeing, we can't be guides much (got small kids) but will show you in the right direction. Seeking 1 or 2 volunteers with strong work ethic in late Sept or early October, 1 week minimum stay or 4 week maximum, for chestnut harvest. Must be able to lift chestnut filled baskets and bend over, walk on steep terrain. Language Teaching experience to help you with Spanish or English (native), adventure + hiking outings nearby and rural/cultural tourism available in this historic region of the province of Malaga, Andalucia. Only 1 hour from Mediterranean Sea, Costa del Sol.
