We live on my parents farm (about 100 acres) with Hereford cows and sheep. Dad runs the farm and I help out when needed but that's not very often. We are near to Muriwai Beach and the Gannet Colony. It's about 30-50 min drive into the city. We have a lovely winery next door and we are in a very beautiful area - great for exploring. Public transport is poor here - only 1 bus every 2 hrs and it's a 5 min drive to the bus, but we don't mind giving lifts to and from the bus stops. We are a very easy going family and have 2 girls, Rachael 15 & Sarah 10, who both work very hard to make the place untidy so any help with housework is always very greatly appreciated. Our girls (esp. Sarah), will smother you with loads of attention so be prepared. There is not always work on the farm so we just ask for help with housework, gardening etc. If you want to come stay with us and explore Auckland and surrounding areas, please realise that we are rural and getting around can be difficult. We do help where and when we can. We love to see people spending the day out, seeing the area and discovering Aucklands many attractions.
Farm news - Winter is almost here so we haave started feeding out hay most days. We do have about 70 ewes (female sheep) that we will be shearing soon before the cold really sets in. Towards the end of July we will be going into lambing season so things tend to get a bit busy then.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a very quiet farm. Please don't come expecting farm work, because most of the year there won't be much (if any) available
