We are currently looking for help NOW
march to December.

Hi There!
We are Kerry & Paul, we are looking for vibrant enthusiastic, dynamic and practical people who, are able to speak English, (although we can communicate in basic French)Who love animals particularly dogs and cats.

We run a small restaurant and shepherds hut holiday experience from our beautiful village home, we need a lot help in the garden and We also need some help with housework, cleaning and setting tables in the restaurant.(especially on rainy days and in the winter months!)Cleaning and resetting the shepherds hut for the holiday makers, and in the evenings, clearing and washing up.

The work outdoors will be varied in the garden and vegetable garden. It will include feeding and cleaning our chickens; mowing the paddocks and general hedge/fence maintenance; weeding, digging, tending our new poly-tunnel and and minor building projects.
We expect at least 28 hours a week, usually 4 hours a day and the work can be arranged flexibly around a mutually agreed schedule. You should be able and confident to work on your own without much supervision.
Accommodation in your own room in our house (double bed, suitable for single person or a couple). Shared meals (breakfast & dinner - lunch is 'help yourself'). Wifi available throughout the house.
We ask that a mutual sensibility for allowing everyone their own space is crucial for a harmonious experience at Upper Rectory. We are quite rural so be prepared to have to travel by bus or train to visit nearest towns sights or attractions.

If you would like to see what we do check us out on facebook.

Our beautiful black and white house dates back to 1657, although there was a dwelling here even before that where a swineherd used to tend his pigs! The same family still own the land as did then.
The village is just as historic with a stunning church; two pubs; a general store; a butcher’s shop; a lovely shop selling cards, gifts and secondhand books; and a busy tearoom. The River Rhiw tumbles picturesquely through the village and you can also access the Montgomeryshire Canal which has easy walkways in both directions as far as Welshpool in one direction and Newtown to the west.
All this is just minutes from where we live. You can explore our beautiful countryside further afield using the bus service that passes through the village to Welshpool, Newtown and Shrewsbury, and our nearest mainline station is just 4 miles away in Welshpool with trains to Birmingham and Aberystwyth.
In Welshpool itself you can visit a museum; the medieval Powis Castle with its world-famous garden; a swimming pool or travel on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Steam Railway. Just 5 miles away in the other direction is the ancient Welsh border town of Montgomery. Alternatively the historic town of Shrewsbury is just a 20minute train ride.
