Our home is a traditional rural farmhouse situated in incredibly beautiful countryside in northern Umbria, close to the historic towns of Citta' di Castello and Sansepolcro.
We're an NZ-English couple and live at Casa Tersalle (in the former animal stalls!), working as English teachers in the local area. We don't farm but to supplement our income we operate holiday lets. We like to welcome HelpX people in the off season when we don't have bookings, to assist with general maintenance and improvements to the property. Helpers stay in the comfortable, spacious rental apartment.

We look for people from any part of the world who have a high level of practical skills and can work reasonably autonomously (enthusiasm is not enough!!). We require an average of 20 hours' work per week (or more if you want!). We provide vegetarian meals when we are at home, otherwise helpers have facilities to cook for themselves.

Between us, we speak English, Italian, German, French and a little Spanish. We also have a cat, Pip, who speaks his own language and can make himself understood to anyone!!

About transport: if a helper doesn't have his/her own transport, we are happy to provide lifts when they fit in with our work schedule (e.g. to local towns for shopping, exploring etc). Helpers who are interested in getting out and about more would need their own transport, though (local public transport is very limited). We are happy to pick up/drop off on arrival/departure from the nearest mainline railway station, which is Arezzo.

We have push-bikes available for use but bear in mind it's pretty hilly!
