Old farmhouse on the Otago Peninsula that overlooks Latham Bay and Lamlash Bay. Regular buses run from Dunedin to Portobello, which is only a two minute walk away from the house.

There is a renovated cow shed that serves as a large glass house, a former sheep pen that is/will be planted out and smaller patches of vegetables and herbs around the property.

There are three cats and free range chickens.

Aside from tending to vegetables there are projects planned and/or, basic building and renovation work and painting etc.

I do not count hours of work done. I trust you to make a reasonable contribution.

I can offer you a room, free internet and the use of a mountain bike to explore the wildlife ( penguins, albatross, seals, sea-lions etc) and the varied scenery of the Peninsula.

I bake my own bread and tend to cook vegetarian Indian food. I do eat meat – just not very often. I definitely have no objections to others doing a bit of cooking.

I prefer if people are able to feel at home while they are here, so try to maintain a relaxed atmosphere.

Be warned, that although there is all day sun here, the house can get a bit chilly from time to time if and when the weather packs up.

Also, due to living in relative poverty, I cannot afford to provide you with all of your food during your stay. You are of course, welcome to help yourself to whatever is here, but I need to ask that you bring some foodstuffs along with you too.

Anyway, if after reading this and the comments from past visitors, you think you might like to spend some time here, just get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
