Who are we:
3 humans, 3 border collies, 3 cats, 2 coops full of chicken on a Down to Earth Mountain Retreat.
Our mountain retreat was established in 1999 on Simonskloof a remote mountain farm covered in Fynbos and Renosterbos. We make our living by offering rustic, eco-friendly, off-grid (Solar powered) guest accommodation and plenty of tranquility. Guest activities range from Hiking, MTbiking, Kloofing (Canyoning), Abseiling to Meditations. The focus of our retreat is healthy, organic living in harmony with nature: permaculture.
Volunteers help us with various small and big projects like building or maintaining of hiking trails, upkeep of our guest cottages, permaculture gardening and guest accommodation related work.
Stays are preferred minimum two weeks or longer.
Last minute arrivals are very welcome.
Volunteers stay in a caravan or safari tent with plenty of private space for mediation, reading or studies.
Volunteers need to be comfortable with the remote wilderness, lack of WiFi and mobile connection and have a love for the outdoors, be able to work in a team or on your own.
Volunteering at Simonskloof is WWOOFing: An exchange of 6 hours of your help for accommodation and 2 hearty meals. It's a real healthy, organic life and work experience!
Please visit our Website and Facebook for more info. Interested Helpers are asked to fill in a short application form, hence please don't send a lengthy motivational essay or CV!
