It`s been quite some time now that we are participating in this program.
We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends.

Also our neighbors and others in the village are enjoying the exchange. They are always up for a smaltalk, which is great for you to practice your german!

About us:
We run a dairy farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden.
There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows..

Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature.
It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak english. However, experience has shown that even if u don`t speak german it won`t be a big problem to get along and have a good time.

We don`t expect you to work all day, but you should know that farming is hard work. 5 Hours is what we think is fair. Somedays it will be more. But therefore it will be less on others. The work will be around all tasks at the farm and house. The helpers really are seen as helpers, there are hardly any jobs you do by yourself. It is mostly with us. That way you can learn what we do or practice german while working.

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:
The best way to get to us is via train to Markelsheim. From there we pick you up. Since trains are quite expensive in germany it is good to book in advance.
You could also take a bus ( or carsharing
( to Würzburg and take the train from there. Some helpers hitchhike to us and seem to have good luck with that, but everyone should do that at their own risk.

Our helpers stay at our house. We share bathrooms and the commen rooms.

We have all the meals together. It is no problem if you are vegetarian.
Even though our diet contains a lot of meet, you can work around that with the side dishes or you are free to use the kitchen at any time.

WIFI Available.

Please understand that we can`t help you with any form of visa application.

If you have any other question feel free to ask!
