Help appreciated in summer 2018 = June through August: both outdoor tasks as well as caring for our guests.

We are an agritourismo in Tuscany (Chianti region) south of Florence. On our estate we combine organic farming (production of olive oil, herbal products, jams and preserves) with sustainable tourism. No livestock farming.

In spring (esp February and March) the focus is on outdoor tasks: fencing, gardening, pruning trees, maintenance and all kind of repairs.

Typical tasks at our landhold are, depending on talent and necessity:

Gardening: e.g. planting, weeding, watering, pruning olive trees, mowing lawns, repairing fences and stone walls, chopping fire wood ...
Housekeeping: e.g. taking care of the pool (cleaning, laying out mattresses), help to prepare the daily meals, supporting the charlady to prepare the flats for new guests ...
Maintenance and repairs as necessary,
Harvesting of herbs and fruits from July to September, picking olives in October/November.

As we are taking in tourists (a summer cottage and 2 apartments, no BandB), support in taking care of our guests as well as housekeeping will also be appreciated.

Our 18 hectares/ 45 acres are on a hill side looking out on the Arno valley and comprise both forest and terraced areas with about 700 olive trees, around 300 rose bushes and other flowers as well as plenty of herbs, so don`t forget to pack solid footgear and a cap or hat for protection against sunstroke and sunburn.

Please be aware that a stay with us is not meant to be vacation but work. You don`t need any special skills but we expect a readiness to experience new challenges. We are sure you won`t regret it!

The daily workload will be reasonable but depends on the seasonal requirements as nature doesn`t adhere to a 9-to-5 schedule! What must be done must be done.

However, time can be made to visit Florence or others of the many points of interest in our region. The next village is about 1km downhill, the market town can be reached by bus in about 15 minutes. This is also where the trains to Florence (40 minutes), Arezzo or Rome (a day trip) leave. Upon your arrival we will pick you up at this station. Closest airports: Pisa and Florence.

The farmhouse was built in the 15th century but has been thoroughly refurbished. For your accommodation a single bedroom in a separate cottage with the basic mod cons will be provided: kitchenette, bathroom, WI-FI and SAT-TV. It should go without mentioning that you`ll be in charge of cleaning and tidying the place outside of your working hours. There`s even a bike for you to improve your mobility.

We speak German, English as well as Italian and look forward to welcoming international helpers.

Please apply with specific dates and let us know if you have confirmed travel tickets. We prefer longer stays of minimum 2 weeks but you may also stay for 2 or 3 months.

Looking forward to your supporting us!
