We are a non-organic farm with a cow herd of 340 calving cows. The majority of our herd calves between the months of March and June. Our farming operation is not only cows but we also raise approx. 100 replacement heifers every year. We pride in our breeding and make every effort to find and raise bulls that will help us with calving ease. We are very interested in genetics and make an effort to Artificially Inseminate our top Heifers and cows with carefully selected genetics. Our establishment is mainly Black Angus and we take pride in our bloodlines. We try to make our business self- sufficient and we try to make as much feed as we can to accommodate our herd. In the fall we cut, bail and rake all of our own feed. The majority of our feed is made on land that we own. The successful candidate will gain knowledge of a good variety of skills at our place. We do a lot of our own work so opportunity to learn all of our trades is available. These trades include electrical work, welding, and driving tractor. Duties would include checking animals, mending and building fences, cutting hay and hauling bales. Our farm is a 2nd generation establishment and we pride in family and community. Our family is very involved in all community events and we all pitch in to make all events successful. Summertime is very busy for us! With 3 kids we are always on the run. In the summer months we have lots of work to do but there is also lots of time for play. We own a holiday trailer and spend as much time as possible at the lakes. We already have our campsites booked and the kids are in lake swimming lessons. We have family in Alberta and often travel out that way to see the rodeo or go to West Edmonton Mall. We have access to a boat and could teach people how to knee board and wakeboard behind the boat.
