Hi, I am Harald , an active hobby farmer, in his sixties, working a full-time 9 to 5 job and running the up keep of a small 26 acre piece of Paradise called Pinecroft.
My wife, Lee, works part time in the city and is active on the farm. We have a number of children that also come and go.
Nestled in the rugged Huon Valley, Pinecroft is surrounded by alpine view's and rushing rivers. We have access to bush walking, opportunities for summer and winter recreational activities.
It's recommended you have your own transport, 7K from main highway to Hobart, however transport in Tasmania can be difficult without a car.
Life on a farm here can be isolated without transport.
Private accommodation provided. Meals are basic and shared as a household.
There will be a variety of non demanding work as well as farm work. Cooking, cleaning, gardening, nurturing the animals, building project's and farm maintenance.
Some of the work is hard and, understandably, requires a certain amount of strength and fitness. Skill sharing is encouraged. You will need to be able to work independently at times since I have work and other commitments away from the farm.
Duo's are encouraged, but, please, all helpers, email if interested to arrange your stay.
Helpers seeking paid seasonal work at the many locations in the Huon, whilst staying with us, would be expected to contribute to their upkeep as opposed to those engaged in purely voluntary work.
Internet (NBN Wireless)and mobile reception all OK.
