We are a self-organizing community running a certified organic farm that produces a large percentage of the seed we sell through our heirloom seed company.

This Spring we will begin building a new office for our growing business and community. It will be constructed largely out of non-toxic, natural and/or local materials, and will feature a variety of low energy input and high efficiency systems, including passive solar design.

We’re looking for interns to join us in this project. Construction will begin the end of April, and last through fall. Internship periods are flexible. Experienced builders are certainly welcome, however we want this to be an educational opportunity, and will work with whatever ability you’re at. As we’re a feminist community, we want to specifically encourage non-male identified folks to join us, seeing as a disproportionate percentage of males are represented in the mainstream building sector.

We expect at least 24 hours a week of farm, construction or office work and 42 hours total each week which includes cooking, cleaning, chores, etc. Agriculture work consists of gardening and seed saving. We have chickens, rabbits and goats. You can get involved in running our thriving seed business and planning the Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello. We do variety trials, so you'll find an unbelievable variety of heirlooms in our gardens. You create your own work scene- we are non-hierarchical- and there's space for someone with some knowledge to quickly take on responsibilities in the office and gardens.
