We running an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle, a couple of pigs and bees. And we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us.
Oh man and we love to get to know different cultures and people.
We grow and eat our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider. The brewing season has started again and there's cider, wine and various beers to taste. Grapes are ripening nicely too.
We also finally started to make our own tea and we call it Lotzlong ;)
A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle.
You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at 6.45am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry pigs and the dogs (otherwise there's a lot of hungry noise around the house) and work starts at 7.45am! We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop.
Weekends are mostly free, depending on the hours you worked during the week.
Our home is on a 2ha lifestyle block, which also accommodates our business.
We have a small orchard with a variety of fruit trees, including bananas, a vegetable garden and a big garden around the house with goldfish ponds and large lawns and lots of flowers.
Our house is lovely warm, facing the sun and with a wood fire and a heat pump for cold winter nights, but we hardly have a frost here in the Bay of Plenty.
We do a lot of cooking and baking and would love to try your cooking skills too.
Some nights we play games after work, like Chinese Checkers or Blokus or Jaatze or cards. Gustav is always looking for someone who can beat him with Chinese Checkers....we all have given up by now ;)
Please!! always let us know your skills when you contact us!
Don`t inquire over the phone. There`s no chance to check if your skills (and personality) match.
Please always email!!
We enjoy a drink after work and love a bit of fun, but drug use is NOT part of it!! Just saying due to past bad experiences....(as mentioned - we brew our own beer..)
There is no public transport available to get to and from our place, but we can arrange pickup from the bus stop in Te Puke town or in Paengaroa village.
Our place is about 8km from the sea and 4km from the next highway and 15km from Te Puke township.
As always, just about to start the next project, rebuilding a half round barn and hoping to find someone who knows how to do decorating and wall papering....
You can see us on Facebook.
Looking forward to meet you :)
