Hi there Helpers. Would you like to join us to learn Permaculture? How to grow a garden which will sustain you for the rest of your life? We have grown a huge garden of Earthly delights, and you can share this with us but you will be asked to help extend the planting! We have been growing Food forests for 32 years and make our living from farmers markets so are very busy gardening, making compost, saving seeds, packing eggs, feeding and caring for animals, about 20 pigs and 100 chooks, also we cell graze pigs, sheep, chooks, alpacas, ducks, beef and dairy cows. We are always planting seeds and seedlings, trees and tubers. We mulch ,weed water and protect them then hopefully we harvest lots of fruit and vegetables then eat them or sell them. We travel an hour to the MArgaret River farmers market nearly every Saturday. We also make a 3 hour trip to Perth city farm markets once a month, and we can pick you up from there if you like.
Alternatively you can catch a bus ( SouthWest Coachlines or TransWA) to Nannup, can pick you up from the bus stop with a few days notice.
We also teach permaculture here on the banks of the Blackwood River and beyond. Ecosystems don't operate without animals, and we are not vegetarians. I am really sorry but vegetarian and vegan diets are impossible for us to cater for. We eat very much from our land to avoid reliance on chemical companies and packaging and to enjoy great health. By now we have at least 90 different types of fruit and nut tree growing. The animals do their carbon sequestration thing and help us grow bamboo, trees and veges. With solar power and rainwater, wood stove to back up solar Hot water, we invite you to live lightly on earth with us. We hunt the feral pigs which are degrading landscape. Sorry we CAN NOT sign visa forms and we take non smokers only. We welcome anyone interested in helping us enhance this demo site with renewable energy, worm farms,
swales, rocket stoves, chook gardens etc. We have recently installed a biogas digester and have a 3 kw PV system plus smaller panels for lights at night. We live in a hand built mudbrick home and you would have your own bedroom and share a bathroom with one or 2 other help X ers. This will suit someone keen to learn about soil regeneration and saving the world. If you are not interested in this please dont apply.
