This animal sanctuary was started in 2006 by Gemma from the UK. She was horrified by the number of street dogs and cats there were in the area and the terrible conditions they were in.

Now 13 years later, we are happy to say that things have improved though we still have a long way to go. At the moment we have around 35 resident dogs who we care for and are looking to re-home. We provide medical treatment to all animals in the area as the nearest vet is a 4 hour drive away and most people do not have the funds for treatment there anyway. We conduct regular sterilization programmes to help reduce the number of street dogs and cats in the area.

We are looking for general volunteers to help us with the day to day running of the sanctuary and to care for the dogs. This could be through dog walking and socialising or cleaning enclosures and building new dog huts. We regularly undertake new projects and love to get new ideas for improvements from all who pass through

We are also in need of vets and vet nurses to treat the many animals we have coming in and to perform surgeries-particularly spays and neuters.

We have a very basic volunteer house which can house 10 volunteers. At times when the volunteer house is full we would be willing to accept additional volunteers however they would need to stay in a local guesthouse (150-250 baht per night).

We provide all volunteers with a free vegetarian lunch Monday to Friday During school term. We have high speed wireless internet access in the sanctuary and at the volunteer house.

Thank you and please contact us for more details
