I am a new farmer: next spring will be my first season farming non-certified organic vegetables on my farm in Hastings County. I am looking for help with gardening work, as well as with building a small log cabin on the property.

Currently, we have a small herd of sheep [for lamb] and 2 donkeys to protect them, plus chickens for eggs and meat. We are able to accommodate vegetarians but we aren't willing to remove all traces of meat from the premises. Sorry.
The accommodations that are available include a futon in an unwinterized sun room, a bed in a 5th wheel trailer, and many acres of land for camping. Help is needed primarily from May to October.

We are located a walkable distance from a beautiful conservation area on the Moira River where you can swim and walk the trails. There are also plenty of forests, swamps and fields to explore here on our property. We make maple syrup in the spring, but at that time of year, accommodations are difficult to provide, though it is possible to heat the sun room in March if necessary.

We're not far from a few growing tourist regions, and welcome visitors to the area, so please contact us if you are interested in lending a hand!
