We are 1 hour drive north from Auckland on the coast and within walking distance of the sea (1km). Our farm is primarily in trees and gardens and we have lots of ducks. We provide backpacker accommodation and make herbal healing balms from the organic plants grown on the farm. We prefer longer stay helpers because it takes time to learn tasks but if you can help with office work or household tasks we can take people for a 2 week minimum. We have many different jobs on this farm from preparing and gathering firewood to work in the garden. If you are an artist we would love a new mural. We live in a coastal area and there is plenty of outdoor activities to do. The farm is still developing and we are in the process of setting up a english language and environmental studies school on the property and are able to take people of any age and any english language ability (or not). You must be willing to work but most importantly be open to new experiences and not judgemental. We do try and match people with particular interests and skills with certain tasks. We expect 5 hours work a day and give one day off a week. There are three generations living on the farm. We are not vegetarians and kill our own meat. Food prepared is seasonal and where possible organic. We prefer people who are not fussy and will fit into an extended family environment. Individual accommodation is available. Families are welcome. Audrey is an english teacher and is happy to help those wanting to improve their english. We have hosted visitors for 21 years and have had 100s stay with us. Check out our website for more information.
