Yogi Shree Krishna Shrestha here,
This is a self-sustainable, fully organic farm & retreat center located in the Himalayan foothills. We offer unique spiritual pilgrimages, organic food, agricultural farming classes, Tantra yoga, sound healing, Chandi mantra chanting & meditation courses.
I live here with Ganesh, my 96-year-old father who passed away in the most peaceful & beautiful way. Sarita, my wife of 50 years & Priya, my 16-year-old daughter. We started this farm in 1991 with the dream of being organic & self-sustainable.
We have long since achieved that dream & spread our knowledge & love to people all over the world! I have also been a spiritual pilgrimage guide for 25+ years & continue to take trekkers to touristic & non-touristic locations (my favorite!). Plus now we have sweat lodge. Everyday, I dedicate myself to practicing yoga, barefoot jungle jogging & sacred Chandi chanting, while I am not helping train volunteers in organic farming or tending to the farm myself.
The farm is nestled 1700m high in the Himalayan foothills, surrounded by wild jungle & other village farms. We are far away from the hustle & bustle of the city and enjoy fresh, clean air. There are many friendly, wild animals in the surrounding jungle, such as barking deer, wild cats, squirrels, lizards, hundreds of birds, garden snakes, wild boar & even a friendly leopard (hence the name Leopard Mountain!). Many seasonal birds & butterflies come to the farm, which is great for bird watchers & butterfly enthusiasts. On clear days, we can see the tip of Mount Everest, as well as panoramic views of the Himalayas that stretch for thousands of kilometers.
Here at our farm, we have an immense variety of grains, vegetables, fruits, trees, nuts, jams, candies, wines & herbs.
***GRAINS: Beans, almonds, nuts, corn, buckwheat, wheat, barley, oats, chickpeas, broad beans, soybeans, kidney beans, butter beans, almonds, pistas & peanuts.
***VEGETABLES: Pumpkin, cucumber, carrot, sweet potato, ground apple, hairy potato, yam, cassava, many kinds of spinach, tree tomato, cauliflower, cabbage, radish, turnip & asparagus.
***FRUITS: Gooseberry, guava, lemon, ground apple, tree tomato (special!), passionfruit, kiwi, avocado (a lot), orange, honeymelon, monkeyfruit (specialty in Nepal), mijalli (healing fruit), fig, apricot, peach, raspberry, grapes, red berry & mulberry.
***COOKING HERBS: Lemongrass, basil, rosemary, small onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, mustard seeds, coriander, stevia, tulasi, mixed green tea & nettle
***HEALING HERBS: Rhododendron, neem, nettle, aloe vera, mint, tulasi, calamus and guduchi. These herbs have proven beneficial effects on many organs in the body & have been used in Nepal for thousands of years.
***Trees, variety of flowers, cotton, sugarcane, bamboo, cactus, parijat & hundreds of wild plants.
***We will have an abundance of sugar, almonds, guavas & oranges this year! :)
Next year we plan on having lots of fresh sugar cane juice!
We make a fresh, all organic Double Rainbow herbal tea with a mixture of lemongrass, mint, aloe vera, nettle, tulsi, basil, guava, & stevia. Come taste it's healing power!
We make different jams, pancakes, candies and wines from the various fruits on the farm. We have gooseberry, guava, orange lemon, fig & monkeyfruit available.
We have all natural spring water coming down from the mountains. We enhance this water with pure copper, crystal stones, malgiri roots (beneficial for the heart) & salikram (black stone from northern Himalayan river).
