We run a horsemanship facility on 618 acres backing onto the Grampians National Park. Our students come and stay for weekends and for week long camps, and bring their own horses. We have our own herd of horses (12) and need help with daily chores like picking up manure, feeding and yard work. Most of the work involves raking leaves and bark and picking up sticks and branches around the 'playground' area where we teach our horsemanship classes and use ourselves. Most of the property is bush, we only maintain a small percentage of it around the buildings and arenas etc. We would be happy to either offer accomodation and meals for 4 hours of work per day (5 days a week) or 2 hours of work for accomodation only. We live 40kms from the nearest town, but travel there several times a week, so supplies can be bought easily. We need help between September and May of each year. We have caravan or cabin accomodation - sleeping only, shower/toilet is a separate building and there is a common room kitchen/dining room which can be used by helpers if needed. Non-smokers only need apply. The facility is also achohol free for visitors. Someone who is interested in learning about Parelli Natural Horsemanship would appreciate spending time here, but a 'non-horsey' person would be welcome, we do not require applicants to handle horses. We need help with groundskeeping so we can spend more of our time with our horses and our family.
