Hello from Marilyn in Cairns,

I would like to offer a Maximum of four hours a day in exchange for accommodation. Looking to have the house cleaned, maintenance in the garden, and some trees and shrubs clipped. I have animals as well so wouldn't mind someone walking my dogs. If you choose not to help then you can rent a room for a small fee. The kitchen is available for you to cook your own meals.

Four Bedroom One Bathroom Home in a quiet close which is close to the city and beaches bus routes, Botanical Garden, Coffee Shops, McDonald's and the local Supermarkets. I have 2 bedrooms available, 1 Double and 1 Twin or 2 Double, to let for short term or long term stay. Breakfast and Dinner can be provided if arranged and the price for this can be negotiated. Both bedrooms are Air Conditioned to cool the room down and use when necessary and switched off when not in the room as our electricity is expensive.

We are able to pick you up from the airport or transit station if it is agreeable to my work times. We are 5 mins walking distance to the bus stop and 10 mins to the shop and take away food outlets.

WIFI is connected Please ask for the password.

It is also a good 15 minutes walk to the Edge Hill Village and a further 5 minutes to the Botanical Gardens and the Red Arrow Walking Track.

If you wish to climb the Red Arrow, it takes approximately 30 Minutes up and down. This is a great way to experience some natural rainforest with its' inhabitants and exercise if you wish to do so. Once at the top of the Red Arrow you can see the picturesque views of Cairns City, the foreshore and surrounding harbour.

If you do not wish to climb mountains but do want to do some form of leisurely exercise, there is a 2.5 klm. walking track along the esplanade. This stretches the full length of our foreshore. Beautiful by day or night.

Cairns has a salt water Lagoon for swimming which is used by all (locals and visitors alike). It is surrounded by grassed areas for sun baking and FREE barbeques.

On Saturdays our local markets are held at the Lagoon. Local crafts and souvenirs to purchase.

If self driving the furtherest of our beaches is only 20 minutes away. Gorgeous beaches for you to enjoy.

Port Douglas is a 35minutes drive and on Sundays hold their own markets. Here you can purchase arts & crafts and Local fruit and Vegetables. The spectacular drive to Port Douglas is an experience not to be missed while visiting our area.

We have some lovely local swimming holes close buy such as the Crystal Cascades. The water comes direct down from the mountains and our very own Copperload Dam, Cairns Water supply. Very picturesque and quiet environment in a natural rainforest setting where you can take a picnic or enjoy the comforts of the cafe while looking over the dam and the surrounding area.

A 30 minute drive from my home or if you enjoy a mountain climb or bike ride it takes a bit longer. The Copperload Dam Road is very popular. with the local bike riders, exercise and walking groups.
