We are a couple living a simple life in the west of Clare. The farm is located in a quiet dead end road about 2 km from Connolly village. 5 acres have been planted as a Native Woodland. The rest of the farm is also planted around the borders with various trees , fruit bushes, shrubs, and herbs. Basically all the farm is treated like one big garden and eventually should sustain everyone living here. We keep Pigs,Chickens,Cows and one horse. We also have dogs and cats.We do produce some of our own meat, so please keep that in mind if you are vegetarian. We prefer couples or friends travelling together who should be over 21 years. Accommodation is in a renovated horse lorry and meals are taken together in the house. We have a compost toilet outside, which can be a challenge on a rainy day ;). We are looking for motivated, independent hands on people who are not afraid of getting dirty. We expect help for five hours a day, five days a week. Work will be varied throughout the stay. Please be aware that all the greywater from the sinks in the house goes into a greywater- pond so please only use organic soap and shampoo while you are staying with us. We are also aware of natures resources so please try to save water by not showering every day and by not using a forest when cleaning your backside .Please have waterproof gear and wellingtons or a good pair of boots with you when you come. There is no WiFi but you can use our computer to skype with family or take care of your e mails. If you feel like you could make a real contribution to the day to day running of a farm feel free to contact us.
