My main objective is to develop commercially viable, non-industrial food production systems.
I am also interested in facilitating the re-introduction of heritage plant varieties (edible perennials), and initiating a study on the health benefits of traditional diets (raw milk, pickled vegetables, etc.)

The farm has 150 water buffalo that are used for fresh milk, butter and fresh cheese. Anyone with cheese making experience? If you can also make butter, so much the better!

We have a 2.5 hectare food forest in progress and raised bed gardens for the production of vegetables and herbs. Anyone with gardening experience would be welcome as I would like to expand the annual vegetable beds next year.

We keep 2 horses that are used for riding and I am interested in developing this further. Anyone with horse experience is welcome to put some order into the stables and work with the horses...maybe take guests out riding in the surrounding area.

The rooms are comfortable (double bunk beds) with a shared spacious kitchen and bathroom. Volunteers enjoy the benefits of fresh buffalo milk, butter and cheese, and organic vegetables from the garden when in season.

Ideally, volunteers will be motivated self-starters with a genuine interest in sustainability, healthy food production and everyday running of an organic farm. Future projects include eco-tourism ventures, building with traditional materials, putting in a natural swimming pool and an outdoor bread oven.

We are NOT a place for "lounge lizards" and our guidelines are few and simple. Self-starters, particularly those with practical skills such as carpentry, construction or cooking, are especially welcome. You will be expected to put in 4-5 hours' work daily with at least one day off per week, and in exchange we provide excellent home-cooked food and warm, comfortable accommodation for our helpers. Those motivated to contribute something tangible will do well here!
