Maryborough is one of the oldest heritage cities in Australia. Located along the Mary River which meanders through the town, it is a very picturesque town, with many old beautiful Queenslander houses (one of which we own). It is the birthplace of the author of Mary Poppins - P L Travers. You can have your photo taken with her statue in town.

Maryborough is located in the Wide Bay area near Hervey Bay and Fraser Island and both are accessible via public transport (buses - and to Fraser Island, a Barge from River Heads) within 30 minutes.

Our home is a private residence and we are nearly finished in returning our home to its original look. We have already started but as my husband is working fulltime its difficult to get things done quickly. We have hosted a number of times, for 2 Japanese teachers (at separate times) 2 weeks each and for a German girl for 2 months who volunteered at the Wildlife Sanctuary just outside of Maryborough.

Accommodation is in a private room with a double bed.

We are located within 1km of the CBD so very easy if you wanted to go shopping, to the movies, restaurants, clubs etc. We have lived here for just 8 years and find the locals are very friendly and helpful.

Transport from Brisbane to Maryborough can be via trains or buses (even air to Hervey Bay) and takes approx. 3 hours on a very scenic drive through some beautiful countryside and towns.

Anyway Rudy and I hope this appeals to some of you and we look forward to speaking to anyone interested in my request.
