Kia ora and hello!
Welcome to a 10 acre private home - in the middle of Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native bush - remote and beautifully quiet! We built this house from local clay using in-situ mudbricks and green roofs.

Our home is 20 min drive from Taipa, Doubtless Bay, 330 km North of Auckland. The subtropical Far North of NZ is the 'birthplace' of New Zealand/Aotearoa, as we know it today and has significant historic sights and stories.

We are part of a landcare group that protects our forest and native birds by trapping predators and we eradicate invasive plants to make room for native bush. We have no TV and limited WIFI. There is a river to swim in and nature to explore. We have a piano, a guitar, and drums. We like music, singing, nature, films, literature and art.

Some activities are chopping fire wood, gardening, orchard work, renovating (fixing wood work, painting), sewing, cleaning, maintenance, collecting seeds, chickens, home-brew beer, baking bread, in season - making vinegar and bottling fruit.

As exchange for your help, 4-5 hours per day, you get full accommodation - your own room and bathroom - breakfast, sandwich lunch, cooked dinner, mostly organic, whenever possible with veggies & fruits fresh from my garden. If you need extra snack food or you need special diet (e.g. gluten free, allergies) please bring this with you. On days you take off and go sightseeing you provide your own food.

Families with children are welcome, I have plenty of toys from my grandchildren, phone for arrangements.
Cheers Gerlinde and Christoph
