Sorry we are not taking volunteers at present ..... Hopefully not long before we can welcome new volunteers. My home is a rural cottage on the northern edge of the beautiful Black Mountains in Herefordshire. I am in my 70's (I like to think I have a more youthful outlook!) and would welcome help with complete restoration of permaculture organic vegetable garden and polytunnel using material already on site, eg wood and stone, mowing, wood cutting, garden maintenance, etc. If the weather is bad, then various indoor jobs to include decorating. You must have some practical experience of these jobs, be fit and strong and have some degree of independence.
I invite helpers to come and stay, and join me to finish a project. I have a nice room in my house for helpers or you could camp, homemade food, company, occasional singing outings and socialising, in a beautiful, peaceful, unspoilt countryside setting with superb walks, 8 miles east of the small market town of Hay on Wye, famous for its bookshops, where bikes and canoes can be hired. This is a peaceful rural situation and would be a great getaway from the busy rat race.
Looking to start up again in March 2020 after hibernating for the winter, I would like 4 hours help daily or 3 whole days per week in return for your bed, food. I like us to share the household chores and cooking, and offer some sightseeing and local outings.
If you have your own transport that's fine, but
I may be able to help a bit with travel as we live in a quiet and sparsely populated valley without public transport. The location shown on the map below is inaccurate, we are right up again the hills in Craswall (pull the map over to the right and look beyond Michaelchurch Escley on the left hand side).
