hello everyone,

for the last 2 years we have been re-building a 13th century templers chappelle( see the website and link to the chapel for more pictures). it was a total ruin when we started, with half a roof and walls which were falling down. we have managed to re-build the walls ( which are 1.5 meters thick, alot of work i dont mind telling you 8), make a new roof with traditional mortice and tenon beam construction, make new floors inside and put most of the basic structure in place.

we will be ready to re-start in april, for what we hope will be the final push on this project and are looking for help to finish up plumbing, electrics, plastering, painting, carpentry, basically you name it we could do with a little help with it!! also there will be jobs that need doing in the grounds, clearing up the garden, building walls, making pathways etc.
we have 2 caravans, which are pretty basic but which come to feel quite homey, i ve lived in one of them myself over the last 2 years and was very happy in there. also there is alot of space for tents. we have a kitchen, an outdoor shower(fantastic) and a compost toilet.
it is a very simple but comfortable and rewarding lifestyle, i find it a wonderful change to the consumerist, matierialistic society, that seems to be predominating in the world in general these days. we are 10 minutes drive from the nearest town of note, and are a couple of minutes walk from the nearest hamlet.
so if you would like to help us in restoring this place of unique history, energy and beauty and experience a more simple lifstyle, please contact us and we can have a chat and see if we hit it off, happy travels 8 )
