UPDATE Looking for more volunteers from October and into the winter
We have set up an Eco campsite and guest house using permaculture principles on site, in the foothills of the Pirin mountain range in the far south west of Bulgaria. Ideally situated if you are planning on arriving or leaving Bulgaria through Greece or Macedonia

We have opened a small campsite and guest house in the far South West of Bulgaria. We are only 10 K from the Greek border and we like to take camping trips to the Greek coast. We also have a mineral water swimming pool at the end of the street as well as the smallest ‘town’ in Bulgaria Melnik famed for its unusual rock formations and wine making just up the road.

We are looking for help working inside and out; gardening (which is organic and using permaculture principles), repairing the barn that will be the campsite bar and cafe, building walls and paths and whatever else needs doing.

Since we opened in April 16 we are also looking for responsible, friendly volunteers to help with the day to day running of the campsite and guest rooms. This will involve welcoming people and checking them in and answering any queries they may have. You will need to speak some English and also another language would be useful (but not essential). Some days we are empty others we may have 5 or 6 groups of people- we never really know as most dont book in advance. Work will also involve keeping the place clean and tidy and generally being available if we are not.
We may also ask volunteers to look after the place and the animals if we need to go away for a few days.

We still have a number of projects ongoing including a large wall that needs painting with a mural, building furniture, sculpture and more mosaic work.As well as this we will be planting and pruning trees and shrubs, preparing our vegetable garden for the winter and developing the barn area.

You will work alongside us and our friends and family if any of them are around. We like to eat fresh local produce and would hope that you would contribute to the cooking with your favourite dishes. We usually provide the food for all meals and share the cooking, washing up and cleaning of communal areas. We have a spare double bedroom with inside toilet and showers and we also have tents if you prefer to camp or if the room is being used already.

We would expect you to do approximately 25 hours work a week , hours to suit us all and we go on trips out to local and not so local towns and places of interest that you are welcome to join us on. There is a daily bus that stops at the edge of the village and goes all the way to Sofia, alternatively you can reach Sandanski, Melnik and Petrich, the local towns, by bus or bike and Kromidovo village has two small shops and a couple of bars as well as the mineral baths open June to mid September.

We have a good internet connection and a computer for you to use.We care about our environment and recycle, repair or reuse things whenever we can but we also have some luxuries including mains water, and modern inside toilets and piping hot showers.
Oh and we also have bikes you can borrow to explore the amazing local countryside
