Farmer Teresa recently took a bad fall and has broken 3 ribs, she really needs help with just about everything.
We seek an experienced driver over 25, or Gardener or house keeper
If you are all three, then you have answered our prayers. Sorry no couples as we do not have enough space.(already have a French Intern resident) .
We need help to sow seeds, water plants, harvest berries shovel manure into soil, paint fencing. Chop firewood. And organize the home.
We need the help especially on Fridays, and weekends. Free time at the beginning of the week instead, which is good for travel in Ireland as the bus service is bad at the weekends.
Also some grounds and buildings maintenance (painting)
General and deep cleaning are also needed for food inspections.
Sometimes we work as individuals on tasks, sometimes we all work together.
Volunteers and interns and the farm family come together for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and dinner and socially if you like in the evenings.
We are a small Eco farm with MANY AWARDS. We always NEED PEOPLE WITH ENERGY AND DETERMINATION, AND we really do appreciate the help. Musicians are especially welcome.
We are an honest, straight forward, hard working farm family. We believe in the philosophy of help exchange.
It is very simple: the more you give to us in energy and commitment, then the more we give back to you. We can spot free loaders a mile off and YOU SHALL be asked to leave if you fit that description.
We are big time volunteers within our own community so we understand and have a very clear concept of what volunteering means. Put in other words, we expect all our visitors to work as hard as we do.
We provide comfortable, clean accommodation and private bathroom, for max 2 adults and All types of couples/companions + max of 2 children are welcome. Music (especially Irish), fun and laughter are a plenty, especially for those who work as hard as we do.
We prefer a Minimum stay 2 weeks.
WE ARE ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN LONG TERM VOLUNTEERing with a view to taking on life changing challenges.
If being in the outdoors does not suit We need help in the house, help with technology, or cooking, cleaning, laundry, in short just mucking in with the whole farm family and let me (Teresa) do the dirty stuff outside!
There is always great variety of seasonal tasks.
We have our own application process and once offered a placement we expect you to re-confirm no less that 3 weeks prior to your arrival .
please bring warm clothes for the winter, old clothes and gardening gloves for working in and footwear ( WARM BOOTS) that you don't mind getting very mucky. its also a good idea to bring slippers in the winter for indoors.
If you have a very specialist diet /allergy please bring your own ingredients as the nearest health food shop is 15 miles away.
This is a beautiful area, steeped in history and culture . There is lots to see and do AND not just in the summer!
Right now the weather is changing to summer (yes we do have one!) so days are gloriously long.
There are lots of activities in our local community in the evenings such as singing, dancing art and sports classes. AND FESTIVALS every weekend. We have a bike and tent you can use .
