This is an organic bushland property about 800m from the Huon Estuary, with stunning views up to the Hartz Mountains National Park. One hour south of Hobart, near Cygnet, it is 11ha in size with 9ha of covenanted native forest. Activities include swimming, fishing, sailing, wildlife watching, coastal and bush walks. I'm an artist/graphic designer with a studio based here.
Tunapi has a small orchard, vegetable gardens and specialty gardens with greenhouses, herbs, flowers, etc. Tunapi also has its own beehives and chickens. Outside of these netted areas, land is being revegetated using local native plants to provide habitat for native animals and birds. HelpX accommodation is in a separate wing of the main house (1 queen room, bathroom & sitting room). Facilities are at Bed & Breakfast standard. Kitchen and laundry are available at agreed times.
Skills preferred at Tunapi include horticulture and orchard management, brushcutting (weeds), chainsaw skills, landscaping techniques, carpentry/building and bushland regeneration (eg planting).
