This is a family owned boutique hotel in beautiful Torquay, Victoria. We seek an experienced and hard-working international couple to help with both cleaning/housekeeping in the hotel and Au Pair duties for our children.

The position is unique in that it offers an experience as well as a small salary, accommodation, friendship, cuddles, and some food provisions in exchange for approx 25 hours of work per week each.

An average working day (Thursday through Monday) consists of 5 hours looking after the children along with 5 hours of housekeeping both at our home and at the hotel. Weekends tend to be busier than weekdays.

We (the family) live next door to the hotel and our children are 3, 7, and 10.

Au Pair duties include preparing breakfast/lunch, laundry, tidying up, trips to the park and general entertainment of children.

Hotel duties include making beds, general cleaning, dishwashing, restocking suites, removing rubbish, laundry as well as cleaning windows, pool, BBQs, etc.

Depending upon your skills, there is additional paid work we can throw your way, including business administration, business marketing and building/grounds maintenance.

Although the property itself is full of amenities to which you’d have access, your “bedroom” is pretty basic. It’s essentially a large wine cellar with a double bed, 2 large chests-of-drawers, basin, mirror, a couch and a TV/DVD player. It also has a nice all-in-one gym that we also use from time to time ?

The showers and toilets are in the pool area. These facilities are also accessed by hotel guests and so need to be cleaned after use. There is a staff kitchen/lounge area where you would store food, prepare meals, dine and hang out.

Some extras include free WIFI, access to the pool, hot tub and tennis court, laundry facilities, towels and toiletries, breakfast provisions, as well as occasional meals with the family.

Probably the final and most important point to make is that this is a high-end boutique accommodation, and as such, our guests need to receive an experience they’re unlikely to find anywhere else. While on the job, you’d be expected to wear a (polo-shirt) uniform and also engage with the guests and help them out as needed. The bulk of the work you’d be doing is cleaning related and needs to be done to the highest standards?

Applicants must:
Speak English
Love children and family life.
Be willing to stay for a minimum of three months
Be experienced and hard-working
Be easy going and social in nature
Be tidy, meticulous and pro-active with cleaning.
Preferably handy :)

Starting date is mid June.
