We are a family of 4 (children aged 9 and 3) living in a cottage next to an 18th Century watermill with wheel. Our project is set in 9 hectares of woodland and riverside pasture in Central Brittany. We are in the process of restoring a broadleaf woodland and plantation, aiming to do a woodcut in October. Anyone particularly interested in woodland conservation please contact us. For woodland workers we can accommodate people for 1 - 2 week stays all through the winter. Working 4/5 hours per day for full board in the house. All negotiable depending on individual needs.
Throughout September we are also welcoming helpers to our bell tent pitched next to the millstream. All propositions considered including families. We are looking for people to help in the garden and woodlands, clearing the millstreams and river on sunny days. In late September we will be repairing the banks of the millstream using traditional materials and methods (and a mini dumper). Should be fun.
Accommodation is basic but lovely (glamping), as is the setting. Helpers would be required to work 3 hours a day in return for a good midday meal.
For more details of our ambitious project get in touch by email in the first instance. French and English spoken.
