Our farm is located on 65 acres just outside of Vankleeek Hill, Ont and run by me, Justin. We have 35 aces of woods and 30 acres of open, windy, rolling fields with a view of the town below and the Laurentians in the distance. We have approximately 10 acres cultivated right now, with a greenhouse, and a pond for swimming when it's just too hot to work. Vankleek Hill is a nice small town they call the Gingerbread Capitol for the style of architecture. There are many community activities and events with Beau's Brewery less than a 2 minute drive away. We are just over an hour from either Montreal or Ottawa. We have been at this location for four years.

We currently sell to a couple of stores and restaurants in Vankleek Hill and Ottawa. We also have weekly CSA shares and a stand at two markets during the week; one in Hudson, Qc, and one in Vankleek Hill. We have been certified organic since 2012.

We produce a wide variety of vegetables including but certainly not limited to; cucumbers, broccoli, kholrabi, culinary herbs, carrots, squash/zuccini/pumpkins. We also try to push the boundries of what can be grown here; we find hardy and resistant varieties and keep the whole process organic. We are not limited to vegetables, either! We are growing various nut trees, mushrooms; and fruit such as cherries, raspberries, and strawberries. We also have a few pigs and 100 chickens (we plan on 200 more throughout the season) who are being raised for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. They are separate from our pets; a dog, a cat, and several chickens and ducks.

We work the land based on various farming techniques: organic, permaculture, and a little bit of biodynamics. We have a vast library on everything we do here. I have many other friends with different farms to visit as well.

We will mainly be working together, doing everything from seed to market. Accommodation will be in a trailer near the house, or your tent. It is just me here full time, but people are here consistently helping out and visiting. The house is a small bungalow with WiFi access, power, washer/dryer, and bathroom. There are a few bikes you can use to get to/from town and around the farm.

I like listening to and playing music. I often have people coming and going, and much beer drinking in between the hard work. If we have time we will get my small sail boat in the water and go swimming in the Rouge River.

Before here, I was farming out of Hudson, Qc for six years, as Just-In Hudson Vegetables.

We are looking for people with all kind of skills and interests including construction and mechanics.
