****MARCH 2014 UPDATE****
We are now able to host helpers once again on our farm.
This year is going to be a busy one for us because John is standing for election to Parliament as the Green Party Candidate in our Wairarapa electorate.
See more of the Green Party here -
So if you would like to get involved and see an election campaign up close and personal then come and stay!

We have our gorgeous almost 2yr old daughter Holly now so you need to be happy with a kid around!
We would prefer couples that are looking to do a bit of everything. Gardening, farm work, animal care, entertaining Holly and even some cooking if you want to share with us your favorite recipe :)
We are trying to paint the outside of the house, when the weather allows and get more fencing done.

We'll happily cater for any sort of diet, carnivore, vegetarian, raw food, gluten free, coeliac, paleo, anything you like.

We live in the beautiful Wairarapa and are working towards a more sustainable life.

We have permaculture kitchen gardens for growing beautiful tasty herbs and vegetables year round and have recently established an organic orchard. We farm small herds of beef and sheep for our own consumption as well as some chickens for eggs and meat. We also breed sport horses, so there are always plenty of animals around!
Our two dairy goats get milked daily currently and we can teach you how to make cheese.

We are starting to plant exposed parts of the property with native plants to attract birds and bees. We are investigating alternative energy projects and sustainable water collection.

Our house is a gorgeous 100 year old renovated 4 bedroom villa with views of the countryside around Masterton. Cooking is done on our wood range, with local wood gained sustainably. We are less than 15 minutes drive from Masterton.

Activities include general horse care, possibly riding, tree planting, landscaping, gardening, building fences, farm maintenance, household tasks and animal care.

We treat our guests as part of the family so you would live in the house with us and share meals etc. We easily cater to vegetarians, vegans, gluten free etc and of course any carnivores. We love cooking and are happy to teach you and share recipes.

We provide 3 meals a day (serve yourself breakfast and lunch), laundry facilities, your own room and wireless Internet.

We are a 4 person household, John is standing for Parliament, Karen is working part time from home and raising Holly an Dave splits his time between New Zealand and his tech company in the U.S.A.

The Wairarapa is a beautiful part of the country within easy reach of our capital Wellington. We have some fantastic vineyards in the district as well as a great farmers market and a lot of artisan food producers, even a great chocolate maker!
